April 30th, the World's Fair opens in New York.
July 12th, the Baseball Hall of Fame is established.
September 1st, Hitler's army invades Poland, marking the start of World War II.
In May, Batman premieres in Detective Comics #27.
It's hard to believe that Batman has lived this long. Why is it people love Batman? Many fans will say it's because he's human and without superpowers, he's more realistic and relatable. But there are several reasons why the Dark Knight has risen to such fame. This site takes you through time, reflecting on the many comic books, movies, toys, and other media that have had the Batman name.

| The CW Network Preparing to Make "The Graysons".... |
Variety is reporting that the CW network is putting together a pilot called "The Graysons" about the life of a young Dick "DJ" Grayson prior to meeting Batman.
The series is seen as a potential replacement for the departing Smallville and is being made by "Smallville" exec producers Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson, as well as "Supernatural" exec producer McG.
You can read the whole Variety article by clicking here.
So, do you think it has a shot of being any better than the Birds of Prey series? Has Smallville and the recent Dark Knight movie success taught WB a lesson as far as how to go about making a successful Bat-franchise? Should this even be made in the first place? Hammer insists he has not intention of stirring up a battle of the Batmans. "That guy's got his s--t down," Hammer says of Bale.
Even so, Hammer does point out that there's at least one big difference between the two. "My codpiece is bigger," he said with a laugh the other day from Vancouver, where he's shooting the CW's The Reaper (he plays the son of the devil).

| BYTB Comics Update - New Releases 9/24 |
Well folks, it's a SLLLOOWWW comic book week for Bat-fans this week with only four titles popping up on our BYTB radar. Of course we still went above and beyond (as always) and scored you preview art on each of them and got cover scans for these titles before any place else on the net!
Oh yeah, we're that good.
But we did get to see Trinity picking up the pace a little bit as well as the return of a Teen Titan. Not to mention everyone's favorite Lil' Leaguers, so all in all it wasn't too unbearable for us Bat-fans.
- Superman/Batman #52 (*with interior art previews*)
- Batman: Gotham After Midnight #5 (of 12) (*with interior art previews*)
- Trinity #17 (*with interior art previews*)
- Teen Titans #63 (*with interior art previews*)
But come back next week when we'll FINALLY be getting another Batman: R.I.P. issue as well as another tie-in from Nightwing!
Until then, you can always stop by our Batman YTB Comics Forums and let us know what you think of this week's comics (and any others).

It's been 7 years since America was attacked and lost so many lives. Every year I like to make a post and a rememberance picture as a small tribute to those who lost their lives. It's also a way to let those who lost loved ones know that we do care and we think about those lives all the time.

Bust out your Wizard Guides, another comic book collectible has just been born!
A last minute shipping advisory was sent out from Diamond yesterday afternoon asking all retailers to DESTROY any copies they may receive of All Star Batman & Robin #10 which was set to be released tomorrow. An anonymous tipster cites a less-than sufficient censoring of a curse word to be the reason behind the sudden re-call.

| TDK DVD Gift Set News |
Slash/Film recently posted leaked images of a mock-up of the rumored Dark Knight DVD gift set to be released sometime in the near future.
The special edition DVD would come specially packaged inside the base of a miniature Bat-Pod mockup.
Apparently this set has a pretty solid chance of being released as /film has already been asked to take down the image by Warner Bros legal Department. If you've got your ear to the ground I'm sure you can find some place that still has the photos up though.
Feel free to stop on by the Batman YTB Message Boards and say thanks to DarkKnight32692 for the heads up on this awesome development! |

| BYTB Comics Update + Leaked Artwork Revealing New Batman?? |
Artist Chris Sotomayor recently revealed the upcoming artwork for the as-yet-to-be-solicited Batman #685 (tentatively scheduled to hit stores in January '09).
Things going accordingly, this would mean it's the artwork for the much anticipated Neil Gaiman penned "Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader" and the first cover to feature a post-RIP (and possibly non-Bruce Wayne) Batman & Robin. And wait, is that Robin actually Damian? What's going on here??

| Eckhart Talks About Two-Face's Fate! (TDK SPOILERS) |
In an interview with E! Online, Aaron Eckhart discussed the much talked-about demise of Harvey Dent at the end of this summer's smash hit movie The Dark Knight.
"No," Eckhart told E! News at the junket for Towelhead yesterday. "He is dead as a doornail. He ain't comin' back, baby. No."
The fans want him back, and the actor wants to come back, but ultimately director Christopher Nolan is the bad parent.
"I asked Chris that question. He goes, 'You're dead.' Before I could even get the question out of my mouth, 'Hey Chris, am I...' 'You're dead.' "
You can read the whole article here.
Is he telling the truth or just covering for the fact that he's still (rumored) to be contractually obligated for a second movie? What do you think? Conspiracy or the truth? Let us know at the Batman YTB Message Boards |
