Within two months after the release BATMAN FOREVER Joel Schumaker was at work on BATMAN & ROBIN. Two years later, fan would once again pack the theaters to see what is probably the worst Batman of them all. The plot this time around; Batman, Robin and Batgirl must stop Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze from deystorying Gotham. But the trio couldn't stop them from being a box office bomb. The low movie gross would make the WB reconsider the Batman franchise. After listening to the fans, WB told Schumaker to get darker, or get out.

Batman & Robin only made $107,325,195 unadjusted for the year 1997. The three movies before it, ranked in the Top 3 for it's year. Batman & Robin, however, would Rank in at #12 for 1997, This low number would Also Rank it at #212 for the All Time Box Office Grosses.
