After taking a bullet for Superman during the Doomsday battle, Batman was put up in a neck and arm brace until his bones healed. Giving him time to reflect on the direction the Justice League was taking, he realized that Superman and the League were closer than ever to turning over to the way the Justice Lords handled their universe.

Batman eventually convinced Amanda Waller to trust the Justice League; though the relationship between the two was strained, Waller began to grow and respect Batman more than any other member of the Justice League.

Cousin of Clark Kent, Supergirl is as headstrong as any young superhero, and sometimes makes rash decisions that affect the outcome of the fight. Despite her minor screw-up with Brimstone in Chong-Mi, she is still on-board with the JLU--for now.

After Supergirl was taken to the future with the Legion of Superheroes and she met Brainiac V, Kara decided to stay. Feeling more at home in the future due to her original homeworld's advanced technology, Kara recorded a goodbye message for Green Arrow and Green Lantern to take back to Superman.

After a particularly hard struggle with Doomsday, Superman attempted to lobotomize him in the same way the Justice Lord's Superman did to Doomsday originally. When he failed, he knocked Doomsday into a volcano, eventually encasing him in a block of hardened magma. After retrieving it, he transported Doomsday to the Phantom Zone, an action that Batman questions.

Superman also played a key role in defeating the Lex Luthor / Brainiac combination that threatened to destroy earth. Though he attempted to disband the Justice League, he was met with protests, not only by the other Justice League members, but by the public as well. The League stayed in tact, but it's headquarters was relocated.

When a revived Darkseid turned to destroy Superman and the entire Earth, the Justice League teamed up with the Legion and together they took out the invading Apokolips armies. Superman and Darkseid's epic brawl took a breather as Luthor appeared, holding what Darkseid desired most: the anti-life equation. Darkseid and Luthor disappeared and the forces of Apokolips retreated.
