Also, Super Hero Hype reports that the official site had this hidden in the source code:

Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker.

That is no longer on the official, or the Harvey Dent site.

Superhero Hype Interviews Christian Bale, and he had a few things to say about "The Dark Knight"

SHH: How about working with Heath as The Joker?
Bale: Absolutely. He's a great choice for it. I like him personally, but he's got a real craving for playing that role. I think he's going to do something really very different. We worked together briefly in the Todd Haynes movie.

I went to where they're filming "The Dark Knight" and I saw what everyone was talking about with the post office as the Gotham National Bank. A few new notes though: Filming won't actually start until Wednesday. The "Rory's First Kiss" notices say that they will be filming until Saturday or Sunday from 6am to 9pm. I took pictures of the set and there is an additional set piece that they added to the actual building on its west side, not sure what it is going to be used for though. Also, the coolest thing that I saw was that there was a schoolbus inside of the building. Again, I have no idea what it is going to be used for but I'm sure it has to do with a major action sequence. I actually took a good amount of pictures. I tried to get closer to the east side of the building but I was chased away by set security. Oh well though, I got some good stuff.

From Batman On Film

* The Joker will have gray skin with lot's of scarring.

* The Joker's costume will be raggedy (This may confirm the info BOF got a long while ago saying that his costume will look as if it was something he put together one piece at a time).

* He's going to look damn scary, not clownish.

A very good friend of mine is a stuntman working on the new Batman film currently on location in Chicago. He is playing the role of one of Joker's clown goons who robs the "Gotham National Bank" set-up inside the old post office. The clown escapes by crashing through a nearby high rise 20th-floor gliding across the city on a cable to the 9th floor of Chicago's Union Train Station ...I hear this scene is being shot tonight Monday April 16th
An anonymous scooper sent this in:

Hey, I work in a McDonalds in Chicago across from where RFK's filming! I was denied as a driver, but got far along enough to know that it's for a car chase in the downtown Chicago streets, and their making preparations for a large aircraft to be very close to the ground, because they do not want any Suv's which is what I drive. They did say I could recieve a call back in June, about a role that would be shot in Native Plants Park.

Chicago resident 'ilk' wrote in with more on The Dark Knight filming in Chicago:

I live in the (ironically named) gotham lofts in chicago, which just happen to be a block from where the dark knight is going to be filming. they've posted signs on all the light poles about upcoming parking restrictions. my balcony overlooks the street where they'll be shooting, but i am not sure if they are coming all the way west to where i am at.

also, got to peek inside the old chicago post office thursday afternoon. they have the lobby made up to be the "gotham national bank.

3-12-07:
Wizard Universe.com has confirmed that Aaron Eckhart will play Harvey Dent the Batman Begins Sequel. There is no confirmation of his becoming Two Face, yet.

2-15-07:
According to Batman On Film Aaron Eckhart has been cast as Harvey Dent. While no press release is out yet, expect one soon.

1-27-07:

According to Film Ick Rachel McAdams may be replacing Katie Holmes. Perhaps not the same character but one close to it.

1-26-07:

A spokeswoman for Katie Holmes has given The Wall Street Journal a comment on why she won't be returning as Rachel Dawes in the Batman Begins sequel, The Dark Knight.

"We never got to the negotiating stage" for the film, said Julie Polkes, Holmes' representative. "Katie was offered ["Dark Knight"] but was unable to accept the role because of scheduling conflicts. She was in the process of negotiating for another project.

Instead, Holmes will star in "Mad Money" with Queen Latifah which starts shooting in a couple of months with a budget of only $12 million.

It's official (no surprise), HARVEY DENT is in THE DARK KNIGHT. Matt Damon passed on the role. The filmmakers met Josh Lucas and there is an interest in Jamie Foxx and Ed Norton. I'm pretty sure there are other actors that I'm not aware of up for the Harvey Dent role.
