ORIGINAL AIR DATE: 11/27/2004
EPISODE NUMBER: 09, Production Code 109
PLOT SUMMARY:
In an old apartment, an older man looks on as a blanket-covered figure tells him, "It's time, Dummy." At a robbery of construction parts the same man, Arnold Wesker, is coordinating and reveals he's using a ventriloquist dummy, Scarface, to give orders. Scarface takes offense at being called a dummy by one of the crooks and is almost killed, and it becomes clear Scarface and Wesker are two different personalities.
Bruce tries to put together the pattern behind the thefts while Alfred tries to set him up with a real date. Scarface and his men set off an alarm at their newest theft and the Batman follows up. Batman is taken out and trapped as a spinning airplane propeller heads toward him. Bruce manages to escape but the crooks have escaped.
Bruce figures out who Wesker and Scarface and gets a call from his new potential date, Becky. He sets up a meet then goes after Scarface at another robbery site. The Scarface dummy is tossed onto a construction line and horribly "disfigured," while Batman engages the crook's goons. Wesker escapes with Scarface and the vital stolen component, while the captured goons reveal their boss is going to steal from a gold reserve. And we find out that Scarface's plan was to create a giant robot Scarface that holds Whisper.
Bruce is reluctant to go on his date because of the interference from his life as Batman, and takes on Scarface. Batman is outmatched by the robot, but while Wesker and Scarface have a falling out, Batman "blinds" the robot and it falls onto the subway tracks just as a subway train hits it. And Bruce misses his date with Becky and chooses his career as Batman, forcing Alfred to tender an apology to the girl.

QUOTES:
Wesker: (after Scarface is destroyed) We were gonna go to Texas ... or Montana.
Batman: We all have places we'd rather be.
Alfred: The young man you were expecting apologizes. He won't be able to attend, I'm afraid.
Becky: Let me guess. He's married.
Alfred: To his work.
INTERESTING NOTES:
- Interestingly enough, John DiMaggio, who played the Rhino, also played the Marvel Comics character called the Rhino in the Spider-Man 2 PS2 and other consoles game.
- The look of Scarface is clearly modeled on Al Pacino's character from the 1983 film. He even gets to say that film's famous line, "Say hello to my little friend!"
