EPISODE NUMBER: 15, Production Code 202
PLOT SUMMARY:
Batman is on the rooftops as the police move a bomb squad into City Hall where a series of barrels of green liquid are hooked up to an explosive hourglass with a riddle on the computer screen. Yin tries to defuse the bomb as Batman comes to her aid and helps her solve the riddle just in time. A hologram of a green-clad figure appears in the hourglass and announces himself as "The Riddler."
Yin shows herself to the camera while Batman keeps to the shadows, while outside the Riddler overrides their communication system. He challenges Yin to a battle of wits - there are riddles scattered throughout Gotham and demands she is the only one to solve them - the police can't interfere. Rojas sends the police to follow her while Yin heads for the site of the next riddle-clue: the Gotham Bridge. Batman also follows her and the two are in communication via Batwave. Thee is a green question-marked van at the bridge and inside it another communication screen. The Riddler warns the bridge is rigged with explosives and gives her another riddle - a puzzle. While she works to solve it, the Riddler spots Rojas and activates the van, which drives off by remote with Yin on board. Batman manages to attach a remote camera and continues to help her while flying above to remain in range. They solve the puzzle and defuse the bridge bombs, but the Riddler runs the van off the bridge.
Batman flies in to rescue Yin as the van crashes - she goes back to the communication screen and the Riddler makes contact again. The next riddle takes her to an organ at a theater, an El train, and a museum. She (and Batman) solve the riddles but at the museum, the Riddler manages to deduce his plan involves a drill. His last riddle has no answer and it turns out the explosive "gel" is jello - he's been leading them away from the location of the true crime - the site of the first riddle, City Hall, where he's breaking in to access Gotham's mainframe and take control of the city. The Riddler knows that the Batman is helping her and Batman reveals himself. Riddler blinds them with his cane and gases them unconscious.
Batman and Yin awake in the Riddler's lair, manacled, and the villain prepares to unmask Batman. But he plans to play a game of 20 Questions, to determine Batman's identity. Batman is hooked up to a lie detector - he lies, and Yin gets shocked. Batman lies on the first question, which hits Yin with a burst of electricity (which increases steadily with each subsequent burst). With no choice, Batman continues the game and answers truthfully. Yin breaks his concentration by telling him Bruce's identity - Ethan Bennett! That lures him in close enough so that Batman lies, and the Riddler takes the blast. He descends on a platform and Batman and Yin pursues. Yin goes after the men uploading the information and defeats them while Batman confronts the Riddler and takes him down. The Riddler is hauled off but warns Rojas that someone on the force is working with Batman - Yin answers the riddle identifying it's her, but Rojas doesn't believe the Riddler and her secret relationship is safe.
