ORIGINAL AIR DATE: 2/04/2006
EPISODE NUMBER: 35, Production Code 309
PLOT SUMMARY:
Bruce is showing a film of the Krank-o Flyer, a new flying toy dangerous to children. Bruce speaks out against this toy, the last in a series of highly dangerous toys. He announces that Wayne Industries has put Krank-o out of business in Wayne, and then a toy robot comes in to the board room and opens fire.
Bruce ducks for cover and the other board members flee. Bruce secretly summons the Batmobile as Cosmo Krank, the owner of Krank-o, flies in. Batman makes his appearance but his weaponry is useless against Krank’s toys. Krank flees and Batman takes the arriving Batmobile in pursuit. When Krank goes over a building Batman ejects and uses the Batwing to pursue. An aerial chase continues and Krank manages to send Batman flying and escapes.
Commissioner Gordon assigns Cash Tankenson to protect him. Bruce isn’t too thrilled and Tankenson soon takes over the place. Bruce has Alfred cover for him so he can leave as Batman to track down Krank. There is a security breech at the front door and they find one of Krank’s toys with a present. Bruce comes back up and the doll spots him. All that’s in the present is a note, and then the doll grows fangs, claws and a mace-tail and attacks Bruce.
Bruce manages to deflect it and then Cash takes it on and gets knocked out for his efforts. It goes after Bruce again and he manages to pull its circuits, deactivating it. Bruce fakes it’s still active so that an awakening Cash can “take it out,” protecting Bruce’s identity. Later the Bat-Signal goes off and Bruce is unable to respond. Once Cash dozes off, Bruce sneaks out and meets with Gordon. Batman goes to Krank’s factory to look for clues while he has Alfred distract Cash if necessary.
Bruce is breaking into the factory when a giant pink bubble-gum bubble explodes, leveling the place. Toy robots move on Batman and open fire – he leaps up, leaving them to destroy each other in the crossfire. Bruce sneaks back in but Cash catches him and reveals he knows where Bruce was – at a party somewhere. Cash feels betrayed and Bruce tries to bear up. Unfortunately Cash insists on staying even closer to Bruce using a pair of handcuffs, but Bruce manages to bring him around enough to let him go out for a park dedication ceremony. Bruce plans to use himself as bait to bring Krank out.
At the ceremony Cash smashes a nearby toy but it’s the wrong one. Then they’re interrupted by Krank, who arrives on a giant spinning toy with mechanical arms. Krank grabs Bruce and they leave as Cash looks on.
Cash gives pursuit in an ice cream truck while inside Bruce puts on his Batman costume and starts to cut his way out. Krank arrives at his playland, Krankyland, and drops Bruce into a river of molten plastic. But the cylinder is empty and it is Batman who stands behind him. Cash arrives and Krank takes advantage of the distraction to activate more killer toys. Batman starts taking them out with explosives and batarangs while Cash manages to latch onto Krank’s flying platform but is dropped onto a giant lollipop. Krank has his dolls hold ash over the molten river and Batman grabs another giant lollipop, dragging it into Krank and knocking away his remote-control unit. Batman uses the remote to have Krank’s own toys take him into custody. Later the police haul Krank away and Gordon gives Cash a hard time – Batman covers for him and then quickly slips away.
