Tired of feeling as though the meta criminal element of Los Angeles had become accustomed to using their unique circumstances as a
way of circumventing the justice system, Kate Spencer took it upon herself to enter an evidence storage locker and procure for herself a
vigilante crime fighting outfit. Decked out in a hodge-podge of various super-hero armor (including Jean Paul Valley's Az-Bat arm gauntlets), Kate Spencer went up against
the murderous meta Copperhead eventually ending his life.
There alongside the womanizing former-criminal lackey Dylan Battles and DEO agent Cameron Chase, Kate Spencer fought crime as
the oft-talked about Manhunter. Unaware of her own meta human lineage as the grand-daughter of Iron Monro and Phantom Lady, Kate would soon come to realize that her son Ramsey also
possessed
inherited meta abilities most notably the power of near invincibility. Manhunter would take on a variety
of meta threats across Los Angeles, even coming up against her own father Walter Pratt, eventually earning herself a reputation as a vigilante not opposed to taking a
criminal's life in the name of justice. During Infinite Crisis Kate would respond to the Oracle's call to arms which would eventually earn her a spot on the Birds of Prey.
Though the events of Battle for the Cowl would soon set her on a path that would take her to yet another city
besieged by crime and desperately in need of help - Gotham City.
