Tony Zucco was the gang lord who was responsible for the murder of Dick Grayson's parents, when the owner of the Haley Circus refused to pay him protection money. He ordered his goons to pour acid on the trapeze ropes used by the Flying Graysons, so that they would fall apart in the midst of the act...plunging the Graysons to their doom.
