PLOT:
Peter Rafferty is released from prison and attempts to go straight. His brothers drag him back into the gang and begin a new series of crimes. All the brothers wear iron vest to protect them from bullets. Steve and Mike Rafferty both die because of their vests during run-ins with Batman. Peter decides to leave the gang, but is later gunned down by another gang member while trying to do a good deed.

PLOT:
Joker begins a series of crimes which involve slang words taken literally. After painting the town red with red paint, Joker breaks into a bank that was painted. The paint contained acid that allows him entry. Batman deciphers Joker’s plans and begins chasing Joker around town. The two end up locked in battle atop a blimp. Joker plummets to his apparent death, ending the chase.

NOTE:
Jerry Siegel, the creator of Superman, makes a cameo appearance in this story.

TITLE: They Thrill to Conquer

PLOT:
Batman and Robin save the life of stunt man Fearless Ford. Ford explains that he would not pay protection money to gangsters, so they tried to kill him. Batman takes Ford’s place, when the stunt man is to scared to perform. Several attempts are made on Batman’s life, but the racket boss is uncovered, Joe Kirk, Ford’s agent. Finally Ford redeems himself by making a spectacular aerial dive to assist Batman in bringing Kirk to justice.

TITLE: Around the Clock with the Batman

PLOT:
Gotham City celebrates Batman Day honoring its hero. During the day Batman has several adventures, including stopping some jewel thieves, entertaining some sick children, and catching some bank robbers. Batman decides to record the adventures as a chapter in his book, "Observations on Crime."
