PLOT:
Batman breaks up the Dynamic Duo by firing Robin as his partner. Batman goes it alone, while Dick Grayson wanders the streets. Dick is nearby when he sees Batman battling crooks with a new partner. He doesn't realize the other boy is only a dummy designed to draw the fire of the crooks. Batman confronts the gang, but he loses the fight and is sealed in an underground basement.

Later Dick overhears the crooks talking in a restaurant. He follows them as Robin and helps to rescue Batman. Together they defeat the gang. Batman explains that he was protecting Robin after the crooks had threatened to kill him. Batman welcomes Robin back as his partner.

TITLE: Comedy of Tears

PLOT:
The Joker steals several signatures belonging to notable citizens of Gotham City. He then uses the signatures to forge documents which allow him to commit greater crimes. Batman and Robin chase the Joker all over town. Finally they bait a trap by letting the Joker steal Dick Grayson's autograph book. The trap is set, and Batman is finally able to apprehend his adversary.

NOTE:
Jerry Siegel, the creator of Superman, makes a cameo appearance in this story.

TITLE: The Story of the Seventeen Stones

PLOT:
Rocky Grimes is released from prison after a twenty year sentence. While in prison he had amnesia, but upon his release his memory is restored. He remembers how his gang set him up to be caught after hitting him in the head with a stone. Rocky now decides to have his revenge.

Rocky begins tracking down the former members of his old gang. He then murders them using stones. After two murders, Batman prevents the third and begins hunting Grimes. Batman deduces the next two potential victims and is able to stop the murders. He then battles Grimes, who slips on hailstones and falls to his death.

PLOT:
On a cross-country train, someone slugs the engineer causing the train to speed out-of-control. Batman is summoned to help stop the train. He successfully boards the train and brings it to a stop. He and Robin then join the passengers undercover to learn who was responsible. A captured murder suspect onboard gets free. Batman finds him the victim of an attempted murder by two other men. Batman apprehends them and reveals them as the saboteurs. They were trying to eliminate the suspect because they were they real murderers.
