Oracle has sent out invitations to potential new candidates for the Birds team all across the DCU. From there she begins to narrow down the list of perspective clients.
Meanwhile, the team is down Mexico way working together with Kate Spencer, a Los Angeles based attorney who also moonlights as the superhero Manhunter. Tabby Brennan, the daughter of a major West Coast mobster is imprisoned at Desanada Prison fifty miles south of San Diego on bogus drug charges and the Birds plan on busting her out. In exchange, the girl's father has agreed to turn state's evidence and cooperate with the Feds. Posing as Ms. Brennan's legal counsel, Kate Spencer gets into a staged fight with Big Barda (who has infiltrated the prison population as a new inmate) which precipitates Tabby's escape.
Once Tabby is safely on-board the Zinda's helicopter she is re-united with her father. As the women are preparing to head back to Los Angeles and celebrate their mission's success, word that their group of armed metas just attacked the government institution of a sovereign ally is reaching
proper authorities. And they are less than pleased. In Virginia, Katarina Armstrong (aka Spy Smasher) is using her credentials to out-rank the Director of the DOD and seize control of the facilities. Regardless of the fact that the helicopter is still technically over Mexican territory, Spy Smasher orders the US military to shoot them down before they can reach their destination!

CHARACTERS:
Black Canary (Dinah Laurel Lance); Sin; Black Canary (Dinah Drake Lance); Larry Lance; Wildcat (Ted Grant); Tigress (Artemis Crock); Green Arrow (Oliver Queen)
PLOT:
Dinah is preparing her move to a yet undecided location in order to begin her life anew with her adopted daughter/sister Sin. Though she decides it's easier just to give most of her stuff away, sifting through her personal effects for any potential keepsakes stirs up a well of emotions Dinah had long since considered buried.
It's only fitting that one of the items Sin comes across (aside from a set of Zoo Crew glasses) is a "World's Greatest Mom" mug which Dinah once gave to her mother as an ironic gift. Explaining the principles of irony to Sin, Dinah takes a trip down memory lane recounting her troubled relationship with her mother as well as the early days of crimefighting when she met her would-be
paramour Green Arrow. While she never had the opportunity to fully mend fences with her mother before she passed, Dinah takes a look at just how much her life (and the lives of those around her) have changed since she first began fighting crime. She begins to wonder if perhaps the changes she's heard about in Oliver Queen's life might have prompted some emotional maturity in the man.
