PLOT:
Piper pulls on the chain handcuffing him and Trickster together, hoping the shock will revive him. It doesn't work and the handcuffs begin a recorded message stating that because one of the subjects has died the cuffs will self-destruct in 24 hours. All this is being observed by Desaad.

Granny Goodness and Desaad discuss the end of the Fourth World which would mean their deaths. Desaad tells her that Darkseid has told him what is the catalyst of the Great Disaster and is letting Desaad do as he pleases with it. Granny Goodness is impersonating Athena and is the trainer of Holly and Harley, looking for new Female Furies.

On Paradise Island the women there are being put through an intense obstacle course. Harley leaves the course by hopping over a security fence and Holly follows her. Harley finds a dark cave and decides to investigate, not seeing the sword-wielding stranger inside.

The Challengers have travelled to Earth-12, the earth of Batman Beyond, still hunting for Ray Palmer. They are tracked down by a Monitor who wants Bob the Monitor to rejoin the other Monitors. He refuses, resulting in a fight between the two. Bob is able to knock him down long enough for them to escape. Bob thinks the Monitor inadvertently told them where they can find Palmer.

Jason and Gehenna are able to merge as Firestorm and knock out the Atomic Knights again. This allows Karate Kid time to explore the tunnels under Bludhaven. He finds a secret passage which sets off a computer at NORAD. This activates the OMAC virus which quickly takes over all the soldiers at NORAD. The OMAC's assemble an Eye satellite which begins to travel to Bludhaven with the OMACs.

NOTE:
Special end of issue story entitled, "The Origin of Granny Goodness"
