PLOT:
Keystone City is the site for the funeral of the Flash, Bart Allen. Many super-heroes are in attendance and deliver eulogies. Jimmy Olsen is there taking pictures for the Daily Planet.
Jason Todd, Donna Troy and a Monitor are there to pay their respects but keep to the shadows. The Monitor is trying to convince them to search the nanoverse for Ray Palmer. He believes only Ray can save the multiverse from the other Monitors.
Pied Piper and Trickster are there, hiding in the audience, so that Piper could pay his respects. They quickly leave when they hear Wonder Girl speaking of making Flash's killers pay. Out in the parking lot they are attacked by Multiplex and Deadshot. Deadshot shoots Trickster.
In the Bleed, Monarch is showing Forerunner the army he has assembled. He wants Forerunner to train them in fighting. He tells her that the Monitors have sent someone to kill everyone on Earth-34 and the other Forerunners are all dead. Forerunner vows to lead Monarch's army to kill all the Monitors and the woman who killed her people.
Holly Robinson is being shown Athena's sanctury she has created for women. While soaking in a tub one of the girls comes by to talk to her. It turns out to be Harleen Quinzel.
Jimmy sees Jason Todd in the rafters and races up to talk with him but the three have left when he gets there. The funeral and speeches has inspired Jimmy to be a hero and do something with the powers he's been displaying.
NOTE:
Two page end of issue story entitled, "History of the Multiverse, Chapter 7"
in which the Monitors look at the history of the DCU Post-Crisis. After the first Crisis only one Earth exists, a combination of Earths 1 and 2. New heroes who originally would have been on other Earths now show up on this one like Captain Marvel, Ray and Captain Atom. The Justice Society vanished from the Earth, trapped in a time-loop where they continually fought to prevent the Earth's destruction. Years later, the murder of Sue Dibny led to the revelation that the JLA had mind-wiped villains in the past and also Batman. This led to Batman creating Brother Eye to keep watch on all meta-humans. Max Lord gained control of Brother Eye, killed Blue Beetle and took control of Superman. To stop Lord, Wonder Woman broke his neck, killing him.
