PLOT:
Batman digs deeper into the "Suit of Sorrows" left to him by Talia. While wearing it he finds his speed and agility raised along with his rage. Batman has to fight his darkest urges and loses track of "Gotham Jack" - a Jack the Ripper-esque murderer with a chiropractic obsession.

Using carbon dating, Tim traces the origin of the suit back to between 1000 and 1200 somewhere in the French Alps. It is there that he crosses paths with a battle ready monk who tells Bruce of the suit's connections to The Order of the Pure - a splinter group of The Order of St. Dumas (which has been known to have been affiliated with the Demon in the past).

While tracking down a chapel supposedly connected to the Order of the Pure, Batman is caught in a staged avalanche. Perhaps powered by the suit, Batman fights his way through the snowy grave and arrives just in time to stop his would be assasins, agents of the Order, from killing the monk from earlier. The monk, thankful for his saved life tells Batman the entire story of the suit of sorrows.

History says that it was Sir Geoffrey De Cantonna who vanquished the murderous Moors in 1190 after they massacred several hundred people in the Alps. The shameful truth however is that after donning the cursed suit, something within Sir Geoffrey snapped causing him to murder the poor residents. The entire thing was covered up to protect the reputation of the knight and the suit has been handed down through the ages ever since. Perhaps the bat on the front of the suit was added by Talia - but perhaps not. Perhaps the bat has been the symbol of dark tortured souls since before even Batman himself.

Bruce resists the urge to melt the suit down and instead wears it out when he captures Gotham Jack. He then puts the suit of sorrows away in his trophy room to serve as a reminder that no man, not even the Dark Knight himself is beyond committing heinous acts of violence.
