PLOT:
When Batman stops an attempted arson at Club Vesuvius, the newest nightclub to open in Gotham, he immediately suspects rival nightclub owner, Penguin. After realizing Penguin wasn't behind the attack he decides that the best course of action would be an opening night appearance by Bruce Wayne.

Also appearing that night is Zatanna who for a hefty sum of money donated to her charity has decided to perform her act for the club's patrons. Club Vesuvius' owner, reformed mobster Johnny Sabatino promises Zatanna to prove that he has turned over a new leaf with his newest venture. After the performance Zatanna reveals to Bruce the potential for a relationship the two of them have. She had begun to develop feelings for him after being shot in the throat by the Joker months ago. Although Zatanna was saved by Batman, it was Bruce Wayne who had stayed by her side while she recovered. Before they can go further into that conversation however they are interrupted by gunshots coming from the back room.

Months earlier, Scarface and his new Ventriloquist Sugar had attempted to rob the Sabatino family of their ill gotten gains by knocking over their Broker who was laundering funds. After being stopped short by a reformed Harley Quinn, Scarface attempts to attain the Sabatino fortune by bumping off Johnny Sabatino.

After Scarface shoots Johnny in the shoulder, Zatanna and Bruce Wayne arrive on scene. Scarface escapes with both Sabatino and Bruce held hostage. Once inside the getaway car Bruce realizes that he knows the newest Ventriloquist.

Sugar (previously known to Bruce by her real name of Peyton) had been engaged to Bruce's friend Matthew Atkins. Before Peyton can tell Bruce exactly what lead her down this road of twisted violence, Scarface springs to life and slaps Peyton. Enraged at Bruce for forcing him to raise his hand against a lady, Scarface decides to take Wayne by opening fire with his Tommy gun in the tight quarters of the getaway car!
