PLOT:
Years ago, the life of renowned actress Millicent Mayne was actually saved by the great Gotham City Earthquake. Finding herself held at gunpoint by one of Two-Face's thugs named Gracchus, the cataclysm forced her would-be assailants to flee. After digging herself out of the rubble, Millicent emerged, feeling as though she was one with the city, believing herself able to hear the screams and cries of it's residents. As her career would continue to grow, Millicent would dedicate a large portion of her time and finances to Gotham City charities, earning herself the name "The Face of Gotham."

This nickname for whatever reason angers Gracchus, a devoted henchmen of Two-Face. Taking initiative, he seeks to impress his boss by crashing Millicent's charity ball in Two-Face make-up and splashing acid in her face. Lying in a hospital bed, Millicent once more feels overwhelmed by the spirit of Gotham City and feels it's pain - especially over the loss of it's protector, Batman - a feeling James Gordon happens to be sharing at the same moment.

The word reaches Dent who had just broken out of Arkham and residing at one of his auto-chop shops currently under Gracchus's control. Initially wanting to lash out at his lackey, his faithful coin lands unscarred side up, so the compulsive criminal simply flees the chop shop before the police can close in on Gracchus's location.

News of the event also reaches Wayne Manor. With Bruce gone and Tim busy with the gang war, Alfred decides to call in Nightwing since he was the last one to deal with Dent. Nightwing takes off for Gotham and phones Oracle to see if Batman had left behind any information regarding Two-Face. She mentions the chop shop and so Dick heads there immediately.

Once inside he is attacked by Gracchus and his men and the resulting scuffle ends when the flame of a blow torch touches some spilled oil and gasoline. Nightwing is knocked unconscious and as a great fire begins to consume the chop shop, Gracchus and his men flee leaving Nightwing and an unassuming pizza delivery boy behind to die in the flames.
