PLOT:
Despite his tragically un-cool entrance, Big Atomic Lantern Boy's arrival does cause Kim to begin doubting her place in the BSA. Though she may be a legacy hero like the rest of them, that doesn't necessarily mean that her destiny is to fight at their side. She is (and always has been) a non-conformist after all. When a holographic message from Most Excellent Superbat informs them of Innovative Concept's deceit, she agrees to undergo mediation in order to bring the splintered Super Young Team back together. As long as they can re-negotiate her merchandising commission that is (naturally).

In true Super Young Team Fashion this counseling occurs in front of a live television audience on the Dr. Claire show. But it's not the condescending therapist to the stars that snaps the team out of the funk but rather the sudden and quite surprising appearance of Ultimon-Alpha! For the first time, the Monster Killer addresses the group as a whole to tell them that Japan needs them! Moreover the world needs their help! They can't be seen sitting on the couch hashing out their petty rivalries! Motivated by the message of their radiant legend, the Team decide to stand together and help save Japan.

But first it seems that somehow an even more news-worthy event is taking place. Rising Sun and his kidnapped publicist Justin Hanover are in Midway City. The cantankerous elder statesman is flash-frying anyone and everyone who gets in his way in an attempt to garner media attention and highlight the inherent hypocrisy of the 24 hour news-cycle. The team rushes towards Midway but as they fly over the torn and smoldering city they're left to wonder, if Midway looks this bad... what exactly lies in wait for them back in Japan?

A blast from Rising Sun brings the Wonder Wagon down, but the heroes are quick to engage him, meeting his energy blasts head on with unrelenting force. But there's something terribly off about the flame-wielding former hero. Cranky as he may have been, holding an entire city hostage is a little out of character. There's obviously something causing him to act this way.

A quick bio-scan of Rising Sun reveals an anomaly in his cranium. The nefarious Mr. Mind, a super genius telepathic worm has burrowed its way into his brain. And there's no telling what damage he'll wreak before the day is through!
