PLOT:
Long ago, the collective consciousness of the Overvoid - the Monitor mind - became cognizant of the epic conflict raging before them within the Multiverse. Endlessly fascinated by these events, it created for itself a race of "angels" or Monitors to oversee and act as an interface between Monitor intelligence and the Multiverse itself. The Monitor race, once faceless, numberless and emotionless were fundamentally changed upon observing the dramatic events unraveling within the Orrery of Worlds.

The race soon also became vampiric, feasting upon the Bleed or life-force of the creatures living out these narratives which they came to despise and label "germs." The greatest of these monitors, an explorer and scientist named Dax Novu ("the Radiant One") became so enamored with these germs that his fellow Monitors deemed him "contaminated" and had him quarantined. Despite the protests of his love Zillo Valla, Dax Novu was sent away to rot in the darkness, slowly becoming the feared and despised "Mandrakk the Dark Monitor." All the while the Celestial Vampires known as the Monitors continued to oversee the events transpiring within the Orrery of Worlds slowly becoming more and more infected by the inspirational lives of the "germ" population, developing traits heretofore unseen such as individual personalities and emotions such as love.

But along with love comes hate. And none was more familiar with hatred than Mandrakk. Anticipating Mandrakk's awakening and return, Ogama - one of the more respected Monitors and also a secret devoted follower of Mandrakk's, had Nix Uotan, the only other Monitor capable of stopping Mandrakk's reign of terror sent away. Blamed for the growing germ infection, Nix Uotan was cast out of the Monitor tribe like Dax Nuvo before him. Only instead of being locked away in a living tomb, Nix was sentenced to living out the rest of his life amongst the "germs" within the Orrery.

Luckily however, before being sealed in his living tomb, Dax Novu imparted one final gift to his fellow Monitors - a Thought Machine crafted in the form of one of the "germs" mightiest heroes Superman. A frightening reminder of the inevitable return of Mandrakk, this Machine would be the giant statue that Superman observed while absorbing the knowledge from the Infinite Book. This machine would be called into play when the time came, as the Infinite Book foretold, when the "most despised shall save the most beloved."

Clutching that book, Ultraman urges his multiversal counterparts to give up hope as Mandrakk the Dark Monitor's destroyer troops begin to anchor themselves to the reality of Limbo. Forgotten for so long only to have their oft-neglected peaceful existence threatened - the jilted residents of Limbo decide to rally a defense against Mandrakk and his shadow warriors. Superman quickly crafts a plan to contact the Monitor mind and turns to Captain Allen Adam to make it happen. It becomes apparent that each of the Super Men are needed back home to tend to a giant crisis occurring on their home world. Realizing that the multiple crisis events are more than likely a symptom of Mandrakk's Omni-crisis, Superman sends the others back to the Thule to warn the other Earth's of Mandrakk's arrival.

Drifting though the immense transparent void of the Monitor mind, Allen realizes that the key to powering up Dax Novu's Thought Machine is a merger of the "dualities" present between Superman of the Matter Earth and Ultraman of the Anti-Matter Earth. Growing to gigantic size, Allen grabs both Superman and Ultraman and smashes them together. Their matter and anti-matter particles unleash an explosion that propels the merged Super men into another plane of existence.

Superman's mind maintains dominance throughout the merger, awakening to find himself within the Overvoid plane of existence, a being of pure thought now living within Dax Novu's machine. The giant monument built in his image that springs to life. The Thought Robot, a sentinel-suit used to protect all existence against the ultimate enemy pries open its rusted eyelids and examines the world before it. Standing at his feet, Weeja Dell leads Superman to his battleground.

Mandrakk's tomb creaks open and from the shadows of neglect and self-loathing comes Mandrakk taunting Superman with the vial of Ultramenstruum needed to save Lois's life pinched between his claws. They fight to the very edges of angelic civilization. As one becomes stronger, the other's strength grows in equal proportion but still Superman stands valiantly between Mandrakk and his ultimate prize - the Bleed of the Multiversal Orrery.

Zillo Valla calls out to her former love, telling him that the powers of good steering the legend of the unstoppable Superman were enough to topple even his own. His insatiable appetite for eternal power is so much that he lashes out at the sound of her voice, evaporating her with one bolt of energy. The rage over his actions propels him onward, lashing out at Superman for causing him to destroy Zillo Valla. In the end however, Superman withstands his onslaught and, forcing Mandrakk to face what he once was and what he could never be again, sends him flying over the edge of the precipice of reality and into the mind of the Overvoid, sinking away being slowly forgotten.

Watching the blankness envelope him, Superman is left clutching the Ultramenstruum. Although Zillo Valla was in fact telling the truth about the Bleed's healing capabilities, the Monitors warn Superman that there is no way to return with it to his world. The Thought Machine damaged beyond repair, he powers down but not first without providing an end for his own unraveling hyper story and a reminder that the battle for good is never over. He uses the last of the Machine's strength to etch his own epitaph upon the face of his own tombstone which read only "To Be Continued...",

Superman begins falling through reality hoping beyond hope to find a way to return to his world with the precious Elixir he needs. Meanwhile, the Supermen team up with the armies of the Overvoid setting out to sterilize Mandrakk's presence from their realm. Reality-Blitzing missiles materialize and set their sights on Mandrakk's Destroyer ship. When the explosions are over and Mandrakk's machines have all been eradicated, Ultraman is mad with rage, left behind in a molten crater to lick his wounds.

The monitor responsible for facilitating Mandrakk's return, the fallen Ogama, comes up to Ultraman to comfort him. Having drunk in the hatred of Mandrakk, he now has the cursed beast's blood flowing within him. He urges Ultraman to rise up and join him, telling him that Mandrakk's quest is not over. It merely rests, lying in wait for the lull of complacency to come over their enemies at which point Mandrakk shall return and strike Superman at his weakest with an army of millions. Ultraman rises, fueled by the power of Mandrakk he stands by Ogama's side as his "fist knight of terror" a vampire Superman with glowing crimson eyes and sharp fangs.

Superman finds himself returned to New Earth just as it was, paused on the downbeat of Lois's final moments - just as Zillo Valla had promised. Proving that something can in fact hold and contain the power of the Bleed, he enters Lois's hospital room, kneels down and places a kiss on her lips. Time thaws completely and Lois's heart continues to beat. She recovers completely, sitting up in bed within mere moments. The most amazing taste ever conceivable still on her breath from Superman's Multiversal kiss, she is inspired to take down the story she has reverberating through her mind. Smiling, Clark leaves the room to give Lois space to write down her tale of Superman's brave battle in the Overvoid against the darkest force existence had ever encountered. With a knowing wink and a nod, Clark tells her he cannot wait to hear it.
