PLOT:
Bruce Wayne (still under the guise of Matches Malone) breaks out of Blackgate with the help of Alfred. Before Bruce escapes, Great White Shark tells him how he came to be so injured. The Suicide Squad came to take him to Salvation Run but ended up watching Shark get his face punched in by Bane and thrown out a window. More than anything, Bruce is interested in finding out more about this supposed "prison planet" that Shark mentioned.

All of that may have to wait however as the Penguin prepares a proactive strike against Tobias Whale. He has outfitted his army with the gear and outfits that the missing villains have left behind (see: Salvation Run). His army consists of multiple factions going by the names of: The Bat Killers; New Rogues; Dead End Boys; Five Points Gang; L.O.D. and the Femmes Fatales. As the group departs, Penguin picks up a phone and contacts the Spoiler reminding of her mission - assassinate Intergang's Johnny Stitches.

Shortly after Penguin's group infiltrates Whale's base, Nightwing (in disguise as one of Penguin's rogues) phones Robin, urging him to get there as soon as possible. Before Robin can arrive (with Wildcat), the Vigilante shows up to join the party. Not recognizing his ally in disguise, Vigilante shoots Dick Grayson in the gut. Penguin's New Rogues stop Vigilante from killing Dick but decide to leave him to die in the alleyway, chalking him up to just another soldier lost in the great battle between the two factions.

Nightwing pleads for his supposed teammates to stay but eventually looses too much blood and starts to slip out of consciousness. As the darkness envelopes him a familiar face appears - Dr. Leslie Thompkins. Leslie reaches out her hand and tells Dick that she's here to help.
