PLOT:
The old Happy Harbor Justice League Secret Sanctuary has been inactive for years. Now it's used mostly to store old relics from the past. Perhaps then this is a perfect place for the former mascot of the JLA, Snapper Carr. Snapper is biding his time, hanging out at the old abandoned headquarters when from out of nowhere Cheetah shows up to keep him company. It seems their little tryst during the last Crisis has her coming back for more. Snapper isn't sure what makes him more uncomfortable - the sudden arrival of a known villain in a Justice League official building or the fact that her cat-like senses seem to be honed into his body's chemistry. She can smell that he's at least somewhat interested in giving it another go-round but the two are startled by the sound of the Justice League alarm!

Using his powers of teleportation, Snapper transports both himself and Cheetah to the scene of the emergency. The villainous Epoch, self-professed "Lord of Time" has arrived at this moment to stop the birth of his greatest enemy the Time Commander. And in order to accomplish this he's going to need the JLA out of his way! With a burst of rainbow colored energy the evil-doer makes the entire team disappear without a trace!

Snapper panics at the sight of his friends vanishing but Cheetah is there to assuage his fears. And besides which, it seems that the Time Commander himself has arrived on the scene - and he thinks he may be able to help retrieve the Justice League from the varying points in history which they've been disposed to.

TITLE: When Justice Comes to Town

WRITER: JT Krul
ARTIST: Adrian Syaf
INKER: John Dell
COLORS: Ulises Arreola
LETTERS: Rob Clark Jr.

CHARACTERS: Green Lantern (Hal Jordan); Red Arrow (Roy Harper); Cinnamon (Kate Manser)

PLOT:
Hal Jordan and Roy Harper find themselves transported to the Old West. With his ring energy nearly completely depleted, Hal and Roy walk into a small town and settle into a saloon for a drink. But the locals don't take too kindly to strangers showing up in their town and the next thing Hal knows he's waking up covered in blood inside a jail cell. The town's crooked sheriff has stolen his ring and scheduled him for an execution. The crime? Being an outsider and "attacking" his deputies (something which in fact did not take place of course).

Roy meanwhile was swept from the ruckus by none other than legendary gunslinger Cinnamon! Roy doesn't know this of course, and he certainly isn't aware that Cinnamon (aka Kate) is one of the many reincarnated descendants of Chay-Ara the first Hawkgirl. But he does accept that the two get along exceptionally well and together they head back to town to save Hal from his hanging!

The duo of course rescue Hal Jordan, who retrieves his green power ring from the crooked sheriff. And when the dust clears the heroes actually suggest that perhaps Kate should take over the law in that wayward town. With the bad guys taken care of the two ride off into the sunset together and quickly become enveloped in another bright explosion of chronal energy sweeping them away back through time....

CHARACTERS: Vixen (Mari McCabe); Green Lantern (John Stewart); Shining Knight (Sir Justin Arthur); Morgaine Le Fay

PLOT:
Mari wakes up face down on a cobbled-stone floor in King Arthur's court to find that a genuine Knight is protecting her and her honor! The Shining Knight himself Sir Justin Arthur is keeping the denizens at bay who are amazed to see such a scantily clad "Nubian wench" lying on their floor! Justin sweeps Mari into his arms and takes her to obtain some more period-appropriate wardrobe. But their day is soon sullied by the arrival of Morgaine Le Fay and her demonic troops! Luckily Mari finds that Green Lantern John Stewart has also been sent back in time with her, arriving only a few clicks away.

Long fascinated with the ancient culture, the "Emerald Knight" is eager to engage in the massive battle, the scope of which eventually drains his power ring and wounds him badly. The casualties are so great on both sides that eventually Morgaine suggests that the victor be decided by a Battle of the Champions. With only his sword and armor by his side, Sir Justin bravely agrees to take on Morgaine's conjured warrior. But that night somehow the sorceress manages to slip a mild poison into Justin's drink, making him unable to do battle. Realizing John was in no position to fight, Mari steps forward and dons the Shining Knight's helmet to take on Morgaine's dragon warrior and win the day!

Morgaine retreats, vowing revenge and the entire castle erupts into cheers for Lord Justin! But when the helmet is removed they are all shocked to find the "Nubian wench" beneath the armor. Yet despite their previous reservations the entire city rallies around Mari and John and celebrates their well-won victory over the treacherous foes!

CHARACTERS: Zatanna; Black Canary (Dinah Laurel Lance); Crimson Avenger (Lee Travis); Detective Richard Drake

PLOT:
It's 1939. New York City. After returning from a soul-searching trip to Nanda Parbat following the death of a friend, Lee Travis swore to protect this city from the filth and crime that threatens to destroy it. In order to do so he took up the name Crimson Avenger. And years from now the Avenger will still be an legendary name in the halls of the Justice Society of America. But now, on top of a roof in the middle of the night, Crimson Avenger is out-gunned and out-manned and forced to take cover from a couple of goons whose ranks he had previously infiltrated in order to get some information.

Luckily for him, Zatanna and Black Canary arrive just in time to save his hide and magically teleport the hoodlums to a place where they belong - behind bars! He doesn't know much about these two women but the Avenger senses that he can trust them. So he takes them back to his office at the Daily Globe Leader newspaper where he meets up with the only cop he can trust, Richard Drake (grandfather of the Black Canary).

Drake tells them about a new case. There's a girl named Ginger Glory. The tabloids love her and all the antics she's photographed doing. Somebody has been flooding the market with pictures of Miss Glory, sending out these scandalous photos to everybody in town, including the Daily Globe Leader. The Globe doesn't run trash like that but Travis has seen enough photos of Glory to notice when she goes missing. Suddenly everyone is in a tizzy to find this missing gossip-girl and Drake needs the Avenger's help.

It turns out that the person sending all these photos of Glory is actually a mob boss by the name of Valestra. Since the thugs they nabbed earlier are Valestra's guys they decide to let them loose and see where they go. Of course the mobsters lead them right back to their boss who has Ginger Glory kidnapped and holed up in a barn somewhere. The super heroes unite to save the day. And afterwards, as the heroines disappear in a flash of light, the Crimson Avenger can't help but shake the feeling that perhaps he should join some kind of team someday.

CHARACTERS: Firestorm (Jason Rusch); Green Arrow (Oliver Queen); Gehenna Hewitt; The Bride; Ra's al Ghul; Ubu

PLOT:
Not everybody gets to travel to such glamorous and exciting locations throughout time. As a matter of fact, Firestorm and Green Arrow find themselves transported to a deserted island somewhere back in 1942. Worried about upsetting the time stream, Ollie orders Jason not to use his powers to introduce any sort of technology or civilized comforts that shouldn't be there. And after two months of sitting around doing nothing the close quarters are beginning to cause the two heroes to butt heads.

But history has a way of finding them! From out of the night sky comes the four armed Bride of Frankenstein battling the warplanes of Ra's Al Ghul! She's trying to destroy one of Ra's Lazarus Pits but a blast from a rocket launcher destroys her detonator!

Somehow the sight of the man who would one day sleep with his wife is enough for Oliver Queen to throw aside any worries over time-continuum mishaps and jump into battle with the ageless Demon's Head. But when the Bride admits to Jason that even she believes she would have lost the battle had it not been for their intervening, the two decide to throw the fight and give Ra's the map to his Lazarus Pit. The thing they fail to mention is that Jason Rusch has already transformed the Pit's magical waters into tapioca pudding!

Trapped inside the consciousness of her boyfriend, Gehenna Hewitt is more than pleased to mock Jason when later, back at the Bride's home in the Swiss Alps, she confesses to once being the bride of Ra's al Ghul as well! Ollie is still stewing over the potential ramifications on the time stream when he accidentally admits that the extent of his time travel knowledge comes entirely from an old episode of Star Trek. Naturally Jason is enraged to find out that they wasted two months on an island because of a TV show but before he can express his frustration the two disappear in a flash of bright chronal light.

Perhaps this can begin the redemption of her tainted name, he reasons.

They don't realize that the evil warrior from Apokolips, Steppenwolf has somehow taken charge of a 13th century Japanese army. As the Imperial Prince's forces threaten to overtake another city, Steppenwolf turns to his oracle for advice. The clairvoyant suggests that he use a young general by the name of Toshio Eto. Acting on her advice, Steppenwolf calls Toshio into battle. Toshio does not know that Steppenwolf plans on slaying everyone in the village. And when he realizes the merciless ways of his superior he refuses to take part in such savagery.

For his insubordination, Toshio is stabbed through the heart by Steppenwolf and tossed into a well to rot. But at that moment, the same oracle appears to Toshio in spirit form and grants him the power over Fire, Earth and Wind! Toshio rises from his grave to find that the village has been decimated. Superman and Dr. Light, who had sat out the battle for fear of disturbing the time stream arrive there as well and are disturbed to find that Steppenwolf is behind it!

After a brief period of mistrust, the three work together to defeat Steppenwolf who quickly jumps into a portal headed towards points unknown. Before he disappears, Steppenwolf is nearly slain by his own sword in the hands of Toshio but Superman steps in to stop the Samurai from making the grave mistake of murdering the villain and becoming something he knows he is not.

TITLE: Wrinkles in Time (Part 2)

WRITER: Rex Ogle
ARTIST: Mahmud Asrar
INKER: Rob Hunter
COLORS: Pete Pantazis
LETTERS: Rob Clark Jr.

CHARACTERS: Snapper Carr; Cheetah (Dr. Barbara Minerva); Time Commander (John Starr); Epoch

PLOT:
Over the years, Time Commander has been known mostly as a villain - if only by way of his skewed take on the world. But if Time Commander says he can get Snapper's friends back from across the timestream, he's more than willing to work with him... or at least threaten to rip him in half via teleportation until he agrees to help.

Time Commander alleges that Epoch has a prison for time travelers constructed outside of time in a place known as Timepoint. He's been gathering the technology and knowledge of the travelers, becoming more powerful with each new prisoner. But Epoch doesn't want to just capture the Commander, he wants him wiped from existence. And to do that he plans on killing Time Commander's grandmother who is currently still an infant lying in a hospital nursery bed. If Snapper agrees to help him and if he can manage to steal Epoch's time-displacement gauntlet, Time Commander believes he can return the JLA to their proper time. Snapper agrees but Cheetah isn't too sure. It takes a little bit of coaxing to finally make her agree to watch over the nursery while Snapper steals the Gauntlet.

With a quick teleportation to and fro, Carr is able to steal Epoch's gauntlet and turn it over to Time Commander who then does in fact bring the JLA back through time. It's not until much later that Cheetah confesses that while standing in the nursery, her keen olfactory senses could tell her that the baby lying in that bed was no relation to Time Commander. Snapper returns to the Secret Sanctuary only to find that in his absence, the Time Commander has gone and stolen back his hourglass from the JLA trophy room! Now not only does the Commander have Epoch's gauntlet but he now has his time-modifying hourglass technology back as well!

Ribbing the obviously distressed Snapper Carr, Cheetah playfully asks, "What's the worst that could happen?"

Only time will tell.
