PLOT:
A giant alien spacecraft appears floating outside of Earth's atmosphere near Mars and Bruce goes to investigate. Managing to make his way on board he accidentally triggers the dead ship's dormant security systems. Luckily Clark arrives in time to stop the giant machines from slicing him into pieces. Superman recognizes the ship as Kryptonian in origin and decides to glance at the ship's log in order to ascertain what happened to the crew.

A band of alien warriors had boarded the Kryptonian vessel, slaying everyone aboard. In an attempt to flee from Kryptonian authorities, the aliens activated a protypical Neo-Recombinant Hyperdrive which landed them here outside of Earth's orbit. The only thing is that the battle they were fleeing occurred several millennia ago. The hyperdrive must have also sent them forward through time at which point they all met a rather untimely death. But perhaps most interesting is the fact that the ship's log has several references to the tenets of war - something which would seem to contradict Clark's long held beliefs over his ancestor's pacifism.

He's always been Krypton's sole survivor but something about standing amongst the corpses of his Kryptonian ancestors there aboard the ship makes Clark want to get to the bottom of what happened to the ship's alien hijackers. And the best place to start this investigation is by tracking down the ship's single missing escape pod - one which was discharged after the ship arrived in Earth's orbit!
