PLOT:
A beast-like creature throws a mutilated corpse off of a building in the middle of the night to send a message to the vampire Dimeter. Batman (who had been trailing the beast from the rooftops) arrives and questions the self-described "simple tourist" about his connection to the corpse but Dimeter simply vanishes into thin air. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman arrives too late to save a young woman from being feasted upon by a vampire.
Bruce takes the corpse back to the Bat-Cave where he discovers that the body of this man apparently in his 40's is actually over 200 years old! Batman also discovers a strange group of viral cells left behind from the attacker which kill and then consume the host. He follows the trail left behind from the beast back to an apartment where he hopes to match fibers from the rope used to bind the victim to something on the scene. Inside however is a mysterious and shady Dr. Herbert Combs. Batman covertly obtains a sample he thinks will match the rope particle back in the Bat-Cave and leaves. Once out of sight, Dr. Combs retreats to his hidden lair where he is apparently keeping and torturing a whole host of unwilling guests.
