PLOT:
Vampires have raided a local hospital and Superman arrives just in time to witness the horrific carnage abound. Initially believing that everyone inside was dead, Superman soon finds a survivor amongst the wreckage and is shocked to find that he recognizes him! The child he rescued earlier has been turned into a vampire by Combs and is attempting to steal a pack of plasma when Superman stops him.

Before he can get any answers from the child, a fight between a vampire and a werewolf spills out, crashing through the window above. Landing on the pavement, the werewolf immediately goes after the boy but luckily Batman and the rest arrive just in time to stop him.

Superman refuses to allow Green Arrow to put a wood tipped arrow through the boy, insisting that there must be some cure for his condition. While Superman is flying off with the boy, Batman gives Superman the name of someone who might be able to help - Man-Bat himself, Kirk Langstrom. Green Arrow admits that he had once met Dr. Combs as a member of 'Elite' - a group of people who shre the unique experience of having been ressurrected from the dead. Combs was interested in using Ollie to help him in his research of the after-life.

Marius and his friend, a werewolf named Janko arrive and tell Batman and the others how they became monsters. Arriving in Prague, Herbert Combs hired local tough guy Marius for protection and access to areas of occult interest in and around Russia. Though a son of a witch himself, Marius thought nothing of Comb's obsession until it became too late. He and Janko, a local polieman, were abducted and turned into monsters by Comb's netherworld access. Once they had fed for the first time, Combs took samples fo their blood and synthesized it to convert others. The unpure nature of the formula is what is causing the creatures to die so rapidly.

It appears as though the group will not have to look very hard for Combs as Jason Blood's senses indicate that Combs is nearby. He is bringing the fight to them!
