Having located Combs, Batman and the others demand that the doctor turn over his monster serum. The doctor claims that he's all out and thanks to the Demon Etrigan they can tell he's telling the truth. Since Combs is of no use to them, Green Arrow and Etrigan take Combs to Arkham while Batman and Janko return to Dimeter's apartment.

Dimeter is unhappy with letting Combs go but Batman assures him that they will interrogate Combs further once he's in custody. Before retiring for the night however Batman asks Dimeter how he keeps his hunger in check. Having seen Dimeter feed on the werewolf Batman knows that the vampiric urges must be terrible.

He assures the Dark Knight that he feasts only on plasma from the hospitals or the occasional rodent. Satisfied, Batman leaves and shortly thereafter Dimeter places a phone call. A young woman responds to his call and arrives at the apartment. She willingly offers her neck for the vampire to feed.
