PLOT:
Helena closes in on Mandragora, demanding to know who the hitman was who actually pulled the trigger ending the lives of her mother father and brother. The old man never denies he is responsible for the hit but claims that he has no knowledge of who exactly ordered the hit. Willing to accept God's punishment for what she is about to do, Helena pulls the trigger on her cross bow and sends an arrow through Mandragora's heart. As the guards begin to sweep in, Helena races into the darkness. One her way out she comes across the Pope who tells her that if she wants to find the man who killed her family the best place to look for him would be Mandragora's funeral - sure to be attended by everyone.

Helena spies the killer at the funeral and follows him to the Carnival in downtown Venice. Everyone is in costume, partying one final time before Lent and appropriately enough the killer dresses as a devil. She follows him but the trained assassin gets the better of her and hands her a swift defeat. But before he leaves he tells Helena that if she should still want revenge she should come and find him in Gotham City - the place Helena has been avoiding returning to for most of her life.

Nevertheless, her thirst for vengeance must be quenched and Helena Bertinelli finally returns to Gotham City. She arrives just in time to watch her one-time love Tony Angelo getting married to his arranged bride, daughter of the Mayor of Gotham City. What's more, Tony's evil father Nino seems to be concocting some kind of wicked scheme with wealthy Gotham business man Bruce Wayne whose home places host to Tony's wedding reception. Helena follows the reception back to Wayne Manor where she overhears Bruce discussing what sounds like the execution of Wayne Corp board members (not realizing that Bruce is actually recording the entire exchange in attempt to build a case against Nino). Huntress vows to do something about this.
