Well.. I love the way they are marketing this movie, BUT, between this and the Wizard World stuff, they are really not treating us fans right.

Ummm... I don't mean to be snarkey... But how exactly are we being mistreated by being given a seven minute prologue?
If you're worried about them only playing it only on IMAX. My opinion is if they're releasing it in any IMAX theater than they're probably going to find a way to put it on line.

Okay.. how many of was saw the trailer at Wizard World?
Now, how many of us will see the 7 minute short in IMAX? Will it apear online? More than likley, but if you are trying to advertise a movie.. do it in a regular theater..

When did they say anything about not releasing a regular trailer? I believe insiders on BOF say that they are indeed advertising something in theaters. The seven minute preview is something they're doing to give us more than they can with a trailer alone; that doesn't mean they're using just one or the other.

News on the prologue, courtesy BOF:
It's going to be 5 minutes as opposed to 7.
It'll be the first 5 minutes of the film, and it will explain how Joker goes from bank robber to the biggest threat to Gotham.
Spoilerish It was also mentioned that the new Batsuit will be equiped with lenses that are some sort of "Sonar equipment".
UPDATE: SHH! is stating that the lenses will be white, but BOF has not mentioned this.

white eyes! when i saw it at SHH, i was so pleased. seeing batman with white eyes will be so cool. i wonder if he'll put eye lenses on when no body's looking, or if it's somehow attached to the cowl.
anyways..joygasm! lol. it'll be the first time we see batman with white eyes live action.

I'm guessing they're attached to the cowl... If you remember the leaked photos it appeared as though he was wearing black lenses. So I'm guessing he wears the lenses all the time, but the turn white or light up when they're activated.

I didn't really care about white eye lenses but on SHH, there were a lot of people complaining how bad the costume is without it. Now that they have it, they don't want it. Seriously! When will people be happy? Nolan probably did this because he thought that's what fans wanted.
I like how its still going to be used practically. |

Actually, the idea of the lenses being used for night vision has been in use for quite some time.
Anyway, I don't like the idea of white lenses. But I love the idea of glowing white lenses! It would be quite a good way to add to the unearthly effect of the character.
Here's a quicky manip demonstrating the direction I think they should take, forgive the quality, I did it in about five minutes

For me plain white lenses are just dull... I like the glowing lenses because, well, if you see a monster with glowing eyes you'd get freaked out.
And I should point out that this was a quicky manip, the size and strength of the glow is just because the effect I used needs to be that way to look intimidating, if they did it on film it should be more subtle.

i don't think batman's eyes should be flash lights...lol. but i understand where you're going with it, i just think that manip really sucks.
i think it should be lit up just a tad bit so that when he's in a dark alley, all you could see is his eyes; kinda like in the cartoons.

Here's a less half-assed manip I did...

Still working on getting the right shine, but I think I got the look of it pretty well.

Actually we're discussing news. It was anounced that he has white eye lenses and this one theory of what it will look like, it doesn't really deserver it's on thread and it really serves only as visual aid to my theory.
