after heaths passing, i doubt they will bring joker back. I mean, i know the character survived, but it just wouldnt be the same without heath. If they do decide to recast, i have no problem, but i doubt they will.

There is nothing that says Nolan has to follow the DCU and have Gordon’s family harmed, although as Police Commissioner they would be a tempting target. There is nothing to say that Nolan has to use The Flying Graysons or introduce Robin, Batgirl or Nightwing in any of his future Batman films.

There was no clear nod to the next villain at the end of The Dark Knight so it’s wide open. The Joker is very much alive and I think Two-Face could have survived that fall too, so who knows. Batman takes the blame for what The Joker and Two-Face did so we know he has to clear his name some how in the next film.

Here's what happens to Gordon's family in the DCU:

His relationship with his wife Barbara becomes strained through Gordon's obsession with work and a short fling with Sarah Essen. They develope inreconcilable differances and seperate... Barbara retains custody of James Jr. and moves back to Chicago to get away from Gotham's crime.

No death or anything like that... Now Gordon's second wife (didn't they get married?) Sarah was shot in the head by Joker.

Question, I forgot to ask this before, but did anyone else notice that in Begins the Gordons have a baby sitting in a high chair, and yet 6 months later in TDK there youngest kid is like 7 years old?

I did, yeah. I'm glad it's Nolan directing these flicks otherwise by the next film she'd be a teenager and become Batgirl. joker4

good observation razhwurz. i don't know what to say about that. i was about to say some time could have passed, but it wouldnt make sense for wayne to not have his house built for 6 years.

nolan said he'd only make another bat-movie if he could make it better right? do you think it's possible? lol. the only way i see a better batman movie is if they add another hero. harvey was a good addition, but he's a fallen hero. i'd like to see either robin(doubtful), catwoman(also doubtful), or azrael(also doubtful), or maybe even jason bard-an inside man for batman working during the daytime. i think he could be cool for a nolan universe character.

When did Nolan say that? From everything I've heard he and Goyer are saying if they come back for a third their intent won't be to top TDK; but just to make a movie that does as much justice to the franchise as TDK.

And I don't see why Catwoman would be unlikely; they are inspired by Loeb's work, and just about every Loeb book has Catwoman as a major player... And with them settign the groundwork for Batman to need an ally, I'm pretty sure they're at least considering using her.
