Nolan has not signed on for a third movie yet. He probably hasn't even written a 1st draft of the script. There is no way in heaven, hell, or on earth that they have already finished the casting process on the leads.

If you want a good idea how long casting takes, Aaron Eckhart wasn't officially cast until a couple of months before shooting began...

There is no way they already have the principals cast.

How many people are taking this seriously, every Batman fan, and I know there is alot should get the word out. This Labor Day Weekend, see the Dark Knight again. Bring it back to number one for one more week. Bring as many friends as possible. I remember weeks before the release fans wanted Titanic to drop, and critics laughed saying maybe $250 nothing more. Now they are eating their words, because it is a possibility that it might happen, but it is up to the Bat-Nation. Keep pushing those friends at work or school that have not seen it to go. Spread the word to every message board on every comic or movie site. "It's not about the money, it's about sending a message" is true. The message is not that everything burns, but that us comic book fans want our movies treated with respect and taking seriously. No Catwoman's or Dare Devils, or Spiderman 3's with a dancing crying Peter Parker. Batman Begins and the Dark Knight are those movies, and the only ones to be considered for an Oscar and best picture. They complain about too many villains in Spiderman, each recent Batman movie had multiple villains, and was done right. Iron man as good as it was had one major villain, all 7 minutes of him. The Dark Knight already sent a huge message to Warner Bro, now their is no campy Justice League, they are thinking things through and are taking their products more seriously. And by the Dark Knight becoming the #1 movie in the world, will keep that message strong in their minds for generations. So this labor Day Weekend Support the Dark Knight just one more time, not for the Dark Knight's sake, but for all Comic Book movies in general.

haha hard core. i don't think i can convince any of my friends to go see it again. although i will probably end up watching it again by myself if need be. anything to help make it beat titanic.

but at this point, i really doubt it'll beat it. i'm just glad it beat star wars!

I honestly don't think grosse matters... I mean why on earth should we care if it makes more money? We already know everyone and they're uncle have gone to see it so it really shouldn't matter.

And point I should mention. Titanic ran for an entire year. TDK made 80% of that in a month and a half. We already beat it in a way.

of coarse it's not important, but this is like big stuff for us batman fans. now we have something to boast about. hahaha.

well..one thing for sure. dvd sales will be crazy. if batman begins did well, this will do great. i should reserve a copy. maybe 2 weeks prior to release? does that sound good?

I imagine it won't be too hard getting your hands on the DVD, since stores will probably get loads of copies, and if you go to buy it on the first day. I could be wrong though.

I'd like to see TDK pass Titanic, but if it doesn't I won't be depressed or nothing, this is still a HUGE success for our favorite Crime Fighter.

So I was reading the very first posts of this thread back in 2006 and I have to say we were off by a lot, lol. It seemed we were doubting Ledger's ability to portray the Joker. I'm so glad he blew us away though.

Ha ha, yeah. When I first heard Heath was going to play the Joker, I was pretty mad. Now I just feel like saying "sorry" to him, ha ha.

I think all of us changed our opinion of Heath Ledger after watching the trailer.

I remember reading an interview where he said he "f*cking hated comic book movies" and I was thinking Uhh...are we sure Nolan picked the right guy?

I was reading about the fanboys making fun of him using Brokeback Mountain jokes and such. Now, look at the popularity he gave the Batman franchise.
