Batman Returns and Batman Forever both had "The Making of" shows on ABC prior to hitting theatres. I wonder if that's what's on the DVD's. That would be cool, then again whole new "Making of" feature would also be cool.
I wish they all the movies had all thier trailers and commercials on the discs, like Diet Coke, action figures, toys, etc. Anyone remember that Batman Returns sweepstakes commercial where the fancy Batsuitcase flies into a hotel window and opens up to reveal a couple thousand dollars? Great stuff.

Is that the same one with the Penguin, or his shadow. If so, then yes I do remember.
I also remember when Batman Returns came out, the theater I went had bunch and bunch of bat symbols on the windows.

This is the coolest feature on all 4 discs. I have a copy of an interview with Kane done after the movie where he goes through the history up to the film from his perspective. It was very interesting. I am anxious to see this.

On the Forever DVD it says additional scenes. I guess if we're not getting a re-cut version, at least we will get to see the scenes they cut. I'm also excited about the Robin storyboards on the Batman '89 DVD.

It's cool that they're going all-out on all the movies, even the one that is universally despised. Nice to see they're putting forth the effort.

The first draft for BATMAN II was finished in 1990. The plot: Catwoman and the Penguin would frame Batman, turning the poilce, and Gotham against him and Vicki Vale would be rescued by an acrobatic street kid named Dick. The script was thrown away and a new one was made. The New script did in fact have the two villians framing Batman, but now there was now Vicki Vale. Batman, however, was the one that was assited by a street kid named Dick, who had an "R" on his over alls. Annette Bening was cast as Catwoman, but had to drop out due to pregnancy. Sean Young, Who was first cast as Vicki Vale in BATMAN, was a little miffed that she was not chosen to play Catwoman, show up at the WB lot dreesed in a home made outfit. Burton quickly got Michelle Pfeiffer into the role. For the Penguin the choice wasn't hard. Even before the script for BATMAN RETURNS was done, fans knew that Danny Devito was going to be the short, bird like villian. The film was almost set. Again, just as it had happened for BATMAN, The part of Robin was dropped. WB denied that the part was even in there, but cast sheets had the part being played by Marlon Wayans.

I recall Robin going to be in Batman Returns as well. I recall seeing a photo of an actor, (not Marlon Wayans) in the new Robin costume which looked just like the new Tim Drake Robin costume that debuted about the same time.
I also read most of the original Batman 2 script by Sam Hamm that was about the Raven Society. It wasn?t perfect, but it was better than the Batman Returns that we ended up with.
http://members.tripod.com/~ajeewa/reviews/review_batman2script_2001.htm
I?d like to hear more about it and was hoping more information about it would make it onto the SE DVD?s.

Sorry if this repeats anything but new stuff was found out what deleted scenes will be included in the BF SE DVD.
A new Danny Elfman segment for Batman Returns and just exactly what "The Heroes and The Villains Profile Galleries" is. Some of the runtimes are not included (Batman & Robin mostly), as they have not been addressed yet. Also included are the Deleted Scenes you can expect to see within Batman Forever. Enjoy!

The Secret of the Batcave is the scene that I really want to see! I'm telling you guys, when you see that scene, you're going to re-evaluate Batman Forever.
Alfred: Master Bruce?
Bruce: No...Batman, Alfred....I'm Batman....Forever.

To be perfectly honest, I can't understand why they'd even bother killing off such a meaningless character as Gordon. He had nothing to do in either of the two Schumacher films especially B&R. |
