New Batman Figures At Toys R Us

New Batman figures based on The Dark Knight 5” Basic figures are out at TRU for $9.99. For the most part they are repainted and renamed figures and appear to be sporting new accessories. Grapnel Gear Batman and Destruct-O-Case The Joker were the only two I saw.

Grapnel Gear Batman was all black with some blue accents, but Destruct-O-Case The Joker was exactly the same as the previously released figure. The Card Back shows new named figures, Spin Blade Batman, Shoulder Canon Batman, Battle Case Batman and Mobile Attack Batman.

You already have Grapnel Gear Batman online, but not the others.

I found out from a poster on AFI that some of these are not new. Some of these showed up last year at discount stores like Big Lots and Family Dollar. The ones I saw had “only at “Toys R Us” stickers on them, so maybe Mattel is just moving around old stock, or reissuing them as TRU exclusives. I stop at a couple TRU’s often enough to know that they have not had these before, but I rarely stop at Big Lots or Family Dollar.

At TRU I also saw a reissued Batmobile now called Transblast Batmobile. This is a slightly reworked Batmobile from Batman Begins. The most notable difference is it only has one red triangle button on top and not the three buttons of the original. The other two missing buttons worked the lights and sound on the front guns and rear jet engine, so it is safe to assume that some lights and sounds have been removed from the Transblast Batmobile. I had seen this Batmobile at Big Lots last year.

Movie Masters is more or less dead, at least until the next Nolan Batman film comes out.
