It's been a while since I've had a chance to post, but I wanted to make sure you all got to see the return of the classic Aurora Bat (I just picked it up from the hobby store a couple of hours ago):

Overall, I'd say Round 2 has done a nice job here. As the last photo shows, the fine detail work of the grilles and license plate has held up pretty well, and there is remarkably little flash considering the age of the tooling. The chrome looks nice and bright with no swirls or color tints, and the parts look very straight. The proportions are nowhere near as accurate as the Hot Wheels castings, but that's to be expected since this is a repop of the old Aurora kit. Definitely a worthwhile purchase, and it gives us all something to do while we await the all-new 1/25 version due out later this year.

Maybe it's just me, but $22.49 and I still have to build it?

That's actually a pretty decent price for a new kit. Round 2 has to pay all the same fees as any other manufacturer - licensing to Warner/DC, tooling, raw material, packaging, shipping, etc. - and has to make their ROI with fewer sales than a similar diecast car or action figure.

Comparatively, new Revell kits are around $25, Tamiya kits are around $40, and resin kits may be in the $60 - $150 range (sticking with cars in each case only - if you really want to see the money, check out military, ship, figure, or model railroading).
