These are out at Toys R Us stores this week. The only one I have not yet seen is the The Dark Knight Batmobile version. The Comic Book Batmobile version says it’s from Detective Comics, not a particular one. To me it looks like a Jaguar E-Type especially along the front and sides. I checked Spencer’s sight but could not find a Batmobile based on the Jaguar E Type.

By "The Dark Knight" Batmobile, do you mean the "Tumbler," or is there a sixth one?
I assume the Tumbler.

Edit: I looked around and answered my own question. It IS the Tumbler.
(Not my favorite of the Batmobiles.)

Hey Spencer1984, what does the back of the Batman: The Animated Series Batmobile packaging say. Maybe a scan of the back packaging would help if you don't want to type it.

Here you go, sorry I wasn't able to scan it until this morning:

...and here' the text from my site:

The Batmobile created for the series was drawn with the same concept. It combined elements from the movies and comics, and was designed with square lines, long fins, and a blunt nose with a chrome grill. As this was an animated car, and engineering concepts did not have to be taken into account, this Batmobile had numerous gadgets that would not fit into a real car. Among the features were: smoke and oil dispensers, wheel slasher hubs, a missile rack, tear gas dispensers, ejection seats, titanium alloy wheels and body panels, and reversable jet exhausts.

There was at least 1 Jaguar-based Batmobile, but it's not on the site yet and it's from way back during the original run of The Brave and the Bold. I still maintain that the new Hot Wheel car is based on this one, the first car from All-Star Batman & Robin...

Look at the headlight arrangement, the horizontal vents behind the front wheels, and the shape of the fenders & hood. It's not an exact match, but it's really close (at least as close as some Corgi cars that were supposed to be based on specific appearances). I'm going to try to get more scans of this car over the weekend, if I can I'll post them here.

Spencer.. I'd call Mattel on it. I mean, it's just TO much alike to be a coincidence.

There is an unconfirmed report that upcoming waves of Hot Wheels 1:50 Batmobile series will include a 1966 TV Series Batmobile with Trailer Hitch similar to what Corgi did with its Batmobile #267. There will also be a 1966 TV Series Batboat with Trailer, also like Corgi, to pull behind it. In addition a 1989 Movie Batmobile and Superfriends Batmobile are rumored to be coming in future waves of product.

So far this line is shaping up nicely and I look forward to a long run of Batmobile similar to what Corgi just did a couple years ago.

Some updates in regards to Hot Wheels Collectors website. 1st off, the Hot Wheels site now has a section call "Hot Wheels 2009 Product Line", and 1 of the sections includes a special section for the 1:50 scale Batman vehicles. Here are 2 links, with the 1st to the main Hot Wheels Product Line website, and the 2nd to the Hot Wheels Batman website ( I guess it will just focus on the 1:50 scale line ) , which you can use to see some more pictures and what not:

- http://www.hotwheelscollectors.com/showroom/productline/bat/

As well, I wanted to let you know that the Hot Wheels Batman section now has a picture of the 1:50 scale 1960's T.V. Batboat on a Trailer. Here's a link to check out all the 1:50 scale Bat vehicles, including the 1st picture of the 1960's T.V. Batboat:

Finally, just to let people know, that for the Hot Wheels 1:64 scale 2009 line ( Under the Dream Garage line, which I have no idea if it's part of the basic/regular Hot Wheels line, or a speical sperate Hot Wheels line ), they are going to release for the 1st time, the Lamborghini Murciélago. While the pictures show that a green verison will be released 1st as part of the line, it probably won't be long before a all black verison is released. The reason I'm stating this is because in The Dark Knight movie, Bruce Wayne is seen driving a black Lamborghini Murciélago ( Apparently, "Murciélago" means "Bat" in Spanish, according to the Hot Wheels site ) . Here's a link from the Hot Wheels Collector website to check out the 1:64 scale Green Lamborghini Murciélago, so that those who want a Black verison can get an idea of what it's going to look like if and/or when Hot Wheels comes out with a black 1:

Hey Jondoe297, I don't have a problem if you want to use the info from my pervious posting on your Batman Blog ( Or copy and paste it on your blog ) . If you want to give me credit for this info, you can say "A_Spidey_Fan from both the BYTB and TNI messageboards". That said, you don't have to give me credit if you don't want to. Just at least state that you got the info from the BYTB messageboards.

The Hot Wheels Collectors Website has updated their Batman section, this time showing Mix 2, which features 1:50 scale verisons of both the comic book Batmobile(The 1 already out), and the Tim Burton Batmobile from both the 1989 Batman movie and 1992 Batman Returns movie. For a link to the main Batman Hot Wheels site, look for my posting in this fourm from "Posted on 22-10-2008 23:52", and for pictures of Mix 2, here's a link to it:

Looks like the 1960's T.V. Batmobile will be getting some loving in 2009. According to the Hollywood Die-cast website back in November 2008, it stated that not only will the 1960's T.V. Batmobile be back in the 1:50 scale ( This time with a tralior hitch for the Batboat. I've already sort of mentioned this in pervious postings ), but also for the 1st time in the small 1:87 scale ( Think Micro Machines/Model Train vehicle/really small scale ). Here are 2 links, with the 1st from the main Hollywood Die-cast website ( Look for the title "11/11/08 - Holy Hot Wheels Announcement!" ) , and the 2nd from the Hot Wheels Collectors website with the news report:

As well, as part of the 1:64 Basic/Mainline Hot Wheels 2009 line ( The cheap one that usually costs around $1.00-$2.00 for each car ) , the 1960's T.V. Batmobile will be re-released again, this time under the Basic "Teams: Faster Than Fast" subline ( Teams: Faster Than Fast will have a light Purple colour somewhere on their packaging ). The 1:64 Basic Hot Wheels 2009 Car # for the 2009 verison of the 1960's T.V. Batmobile is Car # 133 (Under the Teams: Faster Than Fast subline, it will probably be Car # 07/10, though I can't say for sure ).

No idea or info on how the 2009 release of the 1960's T.V. Batmobile is going to be any different from the orginal 2007 release at this time. For proof as well as to check out all of the other Basic 1:64 Hot Wheels 2009 lineup, here's a link from the Hot Wheels Collectors website:

That makes THREE in various electric train scales . . .
1/87-> HO scale
1/50-> O gauge (Lionel trains and other 3-rail brands, all interchangeable), specifically 1/48, but people use 1/43 to 1/50 and some use 1/55-ish
---- The "semi-scale" stuff is often smaller than 1/48 and closer to 1/55, though much of the better "semi-scale" size stuff is actually pre-1960s 1/48 scale. In the 60s and 70s, train cars got significantly bigger. Flat cars and box cars, for example went from 36 or 40 feet to 50 to 70 feet long. Some are now 80 feet long and MUCH taller and notably wider than the older stuff. On some trains, the older, smaller cars can still be seen. They look tiny compared to modern brethren.
1/64-> S gauge (American-Flyer's scale)

I am a wee bit of a train buff and operate/own o-gauge trains (Lionel, MTH, K-Line, Williams, etc). My Batmobile collection is centered in sizes to coordinate with the trains and I have built a couple scale Batcaves on previous layouts. I am planning one for my present one and it has moved locations, and thus size, parameters, shape, and layout several times.
I may even make 2-4 of the in different eras and configurations. One will be basic and "BTAS-esque," one more modern and large, one 1966-based, maybe one extremely basic and small, and maybe one extremely complex and crowded. Each will have a computer, car(s), and other era/style specific elements. I only have a couple scale Batman figures (and little budget to buy more-> will take any great deals offered for more), so all may not actually have Batman "at home."
I also have that Wayne Manor/Batcave playset. The cars are 1/87 and the figures are about 1/64. Though, the house can work on my layout, so I plan to use it.

Spencer, unfortunately I didn't save any picts of my previous ones.

Oh, and I plan on using the BTAS figures' "Arkham Asylum" sign in one obscure corner . . .
It is PERFECT for a two-lane road!

Hollywood Die-cast recently posted a picture of the new 2009 verison of the Hot Wheels 1:64 scale 1960's T.V. Batmobile that he got in an e-mail. It's Car# 7/10 Faster Than Fast, and it's 133/190 from the 2009 Basic Hot Wheels line(Includes all Basic sublines, such as First Editons, Faster Than Fast, Star Tracks, etc).

On the packaging, it uses a blue strap on the left side of the packaging, and has a 1960's T.V. Batmobile artwork on it, as well as the 1960's T.V. Batman logo. From the pictures, this release of the 1960's T.V. Batmobile is basically the same as the 1st verison that was released from the 2007 First Editons basic line, except the hubcaps/rims on the wheels are different design and they are gold. No idea if the front of the Batmobile has the red lines or not.

Here are some links from the Hollywood Die-cast website, with the 1st from the main site( Look for the article " 1/2/09 - Holy New Year's Resolution! " ), and the last 2 that shows you pictures of the Hot Wheels 1:64 scale 2009 Faster Than Fast verison of the 1960's T.V. Batmobile:

- http://www.hollywood-diecast.com/HW%202009%20batmobile%20CU.JPG

I'm okay with the 2007 verison I got, so I'm not overly worry about picking this up for myself. But for those who have to get every verison of the Hot Wheels 1:64 scale 1960's T.V. Batmobile, or missed it when it was 1st released back in 2007, keep an eye out for it.

According to Hollywood Diecast, the new 1:50 scale re-release 1960's T.V. Batmobile With Trailer Hitch, and the 1960's T.V. Batboat is now out. Here are some links from Hollywood Diecast, with the 1st to the main site for the report(Look for the date and entrie title "2/9/09 - Holy Sardine, Batman!", and the rest to some pictures from Hollywood Diecast:

- http://www.hollywood-diecast.com/batman%2066%20batboat%20CU.JPG
- http://www.hollywood-diecast.com/batman%2066%20batboat%20loose.JPG

For those upset about the orginal/2008 release of the 1:50 scale 1960's T.V. Batmobile(Mainly due to the short tubes/pipes at the back, and the way the bat symbol looks on the doors), well, they didn't fix the problems for this release.

Just wanted to let everyone know that according to Hot Wheels Collectors Website, in their regular 1:64 scale line for 2009, they are going to be releasing a Blue 1969 Corvette. A red verison was released about 2 months ago in the same line. According to The Batmobile History website, in 1 comic book story around the early 1970's, Batman drove a regular looking Blue 1972 Corvette as his Batmobile.

Since the body shape of both the 1969 and the 1972 Corvettes are more or less the same looking(At least to me), I was thinking that this upcoming blue 1969 Corvette is the closest we are going to get for the Comic Book 1972 Corvette Batmobile in the 1:64 scale. The only thing that isn't accurate is that the Hot Wheels vehicle has a white strip at the back of the car and the words "Stingray" on the sides, but otherwise, I think it's good enough.

Here are 2 links, with the 1st from the Sneak Peaks section of the Hot Wheels Collectors site for the Blue 1969 Corvette, and the 2nd from the Batmobile History site on the 1972 Corvette Batmobile:

- http://www.batmobilehistory.com/1972-batmobile.php

It should be noted that both verisons of the Hot Wheels 1:64 scale 1969 Corvette(Current Red one out now, Blue coming soon) is going to be 02/10 in the Dream Garage subline(Purple/Dark Blue strip on the basic style packaging) of the basic line(Car# 148/190). Please be careful when looking for 02/10 on the pegs, because many of the basic subline Hot Wheels cars use a Purple/Dark Blue Strip on the packaging(Such as the Faster Than Fast subline).

According to the Hot Wheels Collectors website, they now have posted a picture in their Sneak Peak Archives on both the Mass Retail and the Elite verisons of the 1:12 scale 1960's T.V. Batcycle. Here are 2 links from the Hot Wheels Collectors website, with the 1st to the Mass Retail verison, and the 2nd to the Elite verison(Which has 2 pictures and a bit of info on how the Elite is different from the Mass Retail verison):

According to Hollywood Diecast website, it's been reported that the Hot Wheels 1:87 scale 1960's T.V. Batmobile is now out. He found a posting and picture from eBay. Here's a link from Hollywood Diecast, and look for the report title " 5/30/09 - Holy Miniature, Batman! " for more info:

The Blue verison of the Basic 2009 Hot Wheels 1:64 scale 1969 Corvette ZL-1 ( 2009 Dream Garage: 02/10 ) is now out. This is the 1 that I mentioned would be a good subsitute for the Comic Book 1972 Corvette Batmobile, since that Batmobile is basically a Blue Corvette, and the body looks the same/similiar. Please see my 3rd post up from this posting ( Posted on 01-05-2009 22:35 ) for more info and links to pictures and what not.
