Wonder if the TV Batmobile is part of the 1st 2007 releases that should be arriving in stores anytime now? Man, that would be sweet, especially to get it before the end of 2006. 1 thing for sure is that I'm going to have to start checking out the Hot Wheels section in most toy stores/departments now.

The 2007 First Editions have started coming out, but it looks like they're saving the '66 for a later wave. I'd like to see it out by this winter.

From hotwheelscollectors.com:

"We will be releasing several different versions of the 1966 Batmobile in Hot Wheels, both in the basic car line as well as other lines and other scales. This is the only place you can get the official '66 TV series Batmobile. The team is working with Warner Brothers, DC Comics, and of course, George Barris on these. Look for an official Press Release at the begining of November at SEMA, and we may have some sneak peaks information Saturday Night at the 20th Collectors Convention in Anaheim.
Trust me - it all looks alot better than the Corgi stuff ever did."

From hotwheelscollectors.com:

"They said there's going to be larger scale versions and some of the scales will have different quality/detail versions available. Including a super-accurate 1:18 version. They showed a few drawings but it's basically THE batmobile, which kind of says it all. Noone was booing that's for sure."

"In recognition of the occasion, Mattel will produce multiple scales of the Hot Wheels? Batmobile, including a 1:64th scale model that will appear on store shelves in Spring 2007 in the Hot Wheels? basic car line. In Fall 2007, there will be an additional 1:64th scale model introduced as well as a 1:43rd scale replica model and a 1:18th scale, which will have three levels of detail and finish. Wow.wow,wow....gotta have it!

has anyone heard if Corgi is doing the same...I heard that they had reached a deal with national periodicals and would also be doing a retro 66

Well it would be nice to see Corgi do an updated ?267? Batmobile, this time with the red stripes, but I don?t think that?s going to happen. My guess is Mattel / Hot Wheels locked up the rights to this car really tight.

I do hope to see a Tyco R/C version of the 1966 Batmobile as well.

It should be on the pegs shortly, and maybe on the pegs now depending upon where you live.

The "official" release date is next month, but there were some rumors going around that Mattel may send out a few earlier to get the fans drooling.

Can't wait. I think everyone going to need to check their atomic batteries to see if they are at full power, and to make sure their turibines are at speed when they start looking for what will probably be the hardest to find Hot Wheels Batmobile to date. For the Hot Wheels 2007 New Models, it's Car #15 of 36.
