what do you think it was best knightfall, knightquest, knightsend, hush, the return of hush or all star batman and robin.
I like knightfall the best, but i havent read knightquest and knightsend |

I would have to say that KnightsEnd is my favorite out of that bunch.
Knightfall was good, but it took so long, and there were a lot of threads that were unneccessary.
Knightquest did too good a job of showing why Jean Paul Valley should not be Batman. There were a lot of cool stories, but there was a little too much whining about St. Dumas and Valley's father tormenting him.
Hush is a big movie like story. The story has a feel like Loeb's stories in Superman/Batman. There is not a lot of character development, but everything stays iconic. To me, it is just not as iconic as KnightsEnd.
The Return of Hush was not very good. Too many dropped plots, and the writing never really found a direction.
I have been on too many All Star Batman and Robin rants recently. Let's just say that I just really do not like it.
KnightsEnd has one of my favorite story types as the focus. The return of a hero. Bruce Wayne is healed, but his body has forgotten how to do the things that Batman does. Bruce feels something he hasn't felt in a while: fear. With the help of Lady Shiva, and the sidekicks, Bruce Wayne becomes Batman again. Since the story crossed into several titles, the art is up and down, but the story stays really consistent despite the use of several writers.

I would make a more involved post, but that's pretty much exactly what I would've said. It's ben a while since I read KnightsEnd, actually...I should go back and re-read it soon. |

I really don't know why that hasn't been put into a trade. The only reason I can think of is that it would have to span so many different titles, and the story was not as cohesive as the Death of Superman trilogy.
Knightquest in a Nutshell:
The Crusade - Az-bats went crazy and kept talking to his dead father and the really dead St. Dumas. He cleaned up the majority of the crime in Gotham, but lost a couple of armor suit along the way. He eventually settles on the bladed cape and fully automatic bat-blade launcher that we see in Knightsend. He allows the serial killer Abattoir to die crossing the line that Bruce Wayne swore never to cross necessitating the return of the true Batman.
The Search - Bruce Wayne and Alfred set out around the world to rescue Bruce's doctor, Shondra Kinsolving, and Tim Drake's father, Jack. Dr. Kinsolving is a metahuman with healing abilities and she overloads herself healing Bruce's back. Alfred resigns because Bruce was pushing himself too much, but everyone is rescued and Bruce returns to Gotham. He had intended to retire, but Robin told him that he has no choice but to reclaim the mantle of the bat.

I really liked Knightfall, plus it's what got me back into reading Batman when I was younger. Was it long? Yes, but just watching Batman become physically exhausted chasing so many guys and pushing himself to the limit, just to fall into Bane's trap and get broken was great.
Besides Knightfall, I really like Hush. I could read Hush over and over just because of the artwork. |
