i was just wondering how old Batman is in the books i never seen anything in the books that say how old Batman is.

Now, I know we did a thread on this a while back, but I can't seem to find it. Oh well...
In modern continuity, most people consider Bruce Wayne in his late 30s or possibly early 40s. Considering all the different comic titles, giving his official age could pose some unwanted complexity in continuity, and I doubt it's ever been done outside of stories in a past, future, or Elseworld setting.

I'm not sure how accurate this is or where it came from, but someone on the Discussion page for Wikipedia's article on The Dark Knight posted a timeline of Bruce Wayne's career. If you'd like, CLICK HERE and scroll down just a bit to look it over.

he is 35,, the thing that i dont understand in year two a 12 year old dick grayson becomes robin, but that same year babs gordon is paralyzed, i tought she was paralyzed older, how old is babs then, cause if he has the same age as dick she was 12 when she got paralyzed

Hi, David!
If you want to know the first year Batman was actually born into the world of the DC comics, he first began way back in 1939. I don't know enough yet to tell you his actual age in the comics.

Like James Bond, Bruce Wayne is perpetually in his mid-30s. His past keeps rolling forward behind him so that he never ages beyond that. Even with events like One Year Later and the No Man's Land, which advance an entire year, his age is still never stated so that they need never have him become a middle-aged crimefighter and have to retire him. Batman's a cash cow for Time Warner, and they keep him young forever so he'll remain one.

I believe the official line on this is he is perminently in his mid 30's, don't where I read this but I remember reading it a couple of years ago. This is more or less standard unless the story warrants an age change (like Year One, late 20's I believe or The Dark Knight Returns in his late 60's).

The last time I remember his age being mentioned explisitly was not even in the comics, cartoon, or movies.
When being interviewed about The Dark Knight Returns, Frank Miller stated the idea came to him around his 40th birthday; he realized Batman is perpetuatly 39, and he wasn't willing to be older than Batman, so he put him in his 60's.
Of coarse this timeline proves he's 35, but still, I like Miller's story.

Ok first off I think thats a great timeline done by Wikipedia except for the Barbara Gordon part and I agree with bluebeettle22. In our Batman Begins franchise he`s 30 (I`ve stated that in some other thread a really long time ago) and if anyone disagrees please send me a message because there is a way I can prove it to you! And I would just like to say when you work out and train constantly almost your whole life the healthier you are and not only will you live longer but you can be 70 and look only 40. Hence Batman Beyond, and by those stories we can see that he must be pretty pretty old!!!
