Hey all. I'm new here, and I've heard that you guys are pretty good about helping out the uninformed. Years ago, I owned some Batman comic that featured the bad guy as a fire starting mounted police man. I remeber vividly that Bruce Wayne and this man fenced together and they were both Olympic class swordsmen. Also, Bats almost gets creamed by an ambulance.
Unfortunately, I don't know what year it was from, or what series. I was unable to find it in the archive, but maybe one of you will know? Thank you!

The only story that I can think of with Batman fencing is the Legends of the Dark Knight "Gothic" arc (TPB info here). I don't think that I've read all of it, and I am sure that there have been several Batman fencing stories.
I'll think it over a bit more and see if I can remember anything else that fits your description.

I know Batman does some fencing against Cavalier in the LotDK story "Blades," but the rest of the details don't seem to match what you're looking for. I'll keep checking through my old comics & see what I can find.
