it's not anywhere near as good as jim lee, but i tried. and it's not an exact copy, the buildings are in different places, sizes, etc.

wow phil! great job! i did this drawing about 2 months ago, yours looks better than mine. All i see thats weird is on his left leg(the straight leg) a muscle seems to be bulging out, it looks odd, and you should try making his ear just a BIT thicker. Other than those two minor problems, great drawing!

hmm...i'm surprised u didnt catch the tiny right hand. lol. well it's either that hand is tiny, or the other hand is huge. oh well. i'm half way done inking it. too late for the ears, but i can fix pretty much everything else.

I don't see any of the mentioned problems being that big really. To me, his hands almost look a little too big rather than small but still aren't bad. One little thing I caught was that his back seems to arch in too low, starting under his belt and giving him sort of a wierd little bump for a butt. If you pretend his belt isn't there, and look at the back arches above and below it, they don't seem work together very well. Still, it looks cool, Phil.

Got to be honest Phil I prefer the top pic - I think on the lower picture, aspects of it are excellent - but there's too much sheer black for me.

If you look at the muscles of both the near arm, and the torso - that's good (and without being an artist I'd guess that to be the harder shading to do). In other places I think there's just a bit too much darkness.

Also - a couple of other bits that I really like (I don't do smileys - but If I did I'd do one now).........

The Bat on his chest! That's cool! Thats the blackness I was talking about in the previous post, but in this case it really works on the lighter background..........

There's also a really nice touch on far boot - that little shade/streak of light - that's cool too! In the previous post I was talking about the sheer blackness - well possibly thats the key(?), it just breaks it up a little and adds perspective. I like it.

Top job (with aforementioned reservations)!!

I agree, excellent work all around. I didn't really notice the hand because of the way the shadows blend into the leg - it kind of disguises any problem area there.

some styles tend to be better than others. i believe jim lee has the BEST style ever.

my style is close to scott mcdaniel's or bruce timm's...maybe a mix of both. to me, neither scott nor bruce can draw nearly as good as jim. jim has a way to make his pictures look very attractive. he makes all these cool lines and shadows; very detailed. it's not exactly realistic, but it looks really cool.
