Just a fun lil idea. If anyone here has any manips, drawings etc of a character redesign that YOU think would fit better in the ''nolan- world'', post them here!
i have 2 designs(with descriptions i wrote on my deviant art page)
Catwoman-Im hoping to make this into a gotham girls series, kinda like JMC's manips, but only with gotham/batman girls
here we have the first edition. Keri Russell as Catwoman
for the costume,i wanted to keep a more traditional/comic look, but spice it up a bit, make it more hi tech. so i added pieces of batmans suit on this suit to look like she has some sort of protection
btw,the top of the mask is from halle berrys costume, i just shortened the ears a bit and only used the top of it, cuz well the other masks ears blended in with the background

and Harley Quinn-heres #2 of the series-Marley Shelton as Harley Quinn
i dont like the background, but it was my last resort.
for her look, i didnt want to make her all ''goth'', but i did want her to look ''darker'' but still keeping the 'cuteness' of the character.
i like the way the character manip cae out, but not with the Background, but it was the last thing i could use,its hard finding good backgrounds.
her hands are a little big though, but oh well.
I originally planned to use Christina Ricci, but i thought marley fit better, but i think ill make another using Ricci.

Catwoman is about perfect there, the ears and eye lenses are very slick looking. The wiolverine esqe markings are a nice touch as well..
Now as for harley, I commend your attempt, But you lost alot of what is fun with harley.
You really should loose the skirt and keep the head and mask.
She's crazy so allowing her to have what seems to be a less real life costume kinda makes sense. Anyways good job. |

nah, i dont want the jester suit for harley, i dont see it working for the movies. but i also dont want her to look like so goth/biker girl, my design is meant to stay away from the jester suit and make her look a little more sinister without loosing all of her bubbly cuteness, so she can match up more with the more sinister joker

My recomendation for Harley, keep the skin tight body suit, make-up and mask, but lose the hood. Remember, she's insane, so it's perfectly conceivable that she goes to a costume shop and buys a costume. Also give her the glasgow smile to prove her love for Mr. J.
And no offence, but she doesn't look sinister at all. She looks like some teenager shopping at Hot Topic...
I'll see if I can make a manip of my design, I'm new to that sort of thing so it might suck. lol

she was supposed ot look more sinister with the make up, but marley doesnt really look all that 'mean' in the pic, so it doesnt look like its very siniste,r but i like her like this(i actually drew a pic of my redesign and it looked alot more evil than the manip,probably cuz of the way her smile was) i was thiking of colouring her hair half black and half red but then i desided not to
anyway,s thats how Id design harley
if they do deside to go with a more striaght adaptation, all id say is lose the hood and domino mask,just give her black makeup around the eyes like joker

Oddly enough I always saw Britney Murphy as Harley Quinn...Hmmmm.
As for a real life adaption though..Losing the domino mask and the hood could really irk the true fans, but then again I doubt they'd care LOL  |

Not really, the costume doesnt really make the character, its they way they are portrayed, but costume is somewhat important, but i dont think loosing the mask and suit are a big deal, after all, joker doesnt have a carved smile,long hair, and a painted white face
i can see murphy as harley too, but thats it, who ever is cast as harley has to be able to be both the psychiatrist and the psycho

Now here's how I see it; the Joker wears a pruple suit. He's wearing a costume. Now if you're like Harley and attempting to emulate him, wouldn't you get a costume to? Would you have Joker going around in jeans and a t-shirt? If not, then why would you have Harley dressed like she's going out clubbing?

If not, then why would you have Harley dressed like she's going out clubbing? ya well jokers costume was still played around with to give off a more ''darker'' version, joker from the comics dresses more 'clean-cut' than in TDK, and harley doesnt look like shes going clubbing, but i may add stuff to her later on, but im keeping the skirt,heels, and stockings

Heres 2 more redesigns, some may not like it, but thats alright.
First up is Poison Ivy
Im quite pleased with this. Yeah, she doesnt have green skin, but i dont think(if she was introduced) she would be half plant or have any powers. My idea is shes just a biochemist who becomes too obsessed with her work involving poisonous plants and the company thinks it may be dangerous so they fire her. She probably would want to get revenge and do whatever it takes to get her way and wont let anyone stop her. Shed definetly be a symbol of female power(evne if she is a ''bad guy''
The costume is just a simple piece. A skirt and a top(more like a bikini/bra with see through material attached to it). The vine/plant on her hand wouldnt be anything bad or dangerous, just for design. oh and btw, it may be very hard to notice, but theres a little piece of her skirt that has a leaf print on it
Emily Blunt is Ivy here BTW
oh and sorry that the background isnt very ''ivyish''

and the other is Batgirl
Basically her costume is a mix of both the BB one and the TDK one, it kinda reminds me of the elseworlds suit also and i can see it just fine, but some said it was too dark,so my apologies

and i fixed up harley abit. i have to agree with you Razhwurz, she did look like she was going clubbing, and even though i dont want her to have a jester suit,i tried to imply it as much as i could/wanted, so i gave her tight pant instead of a one piece and i like this one better(i could do without the choker, but i added it in anyways)

You really need to up the brightness on Harley and Batgirl, I've got my screen at max light and I still can't Harley's legs or ANYTHING but Batgirl's head.

I cna see batigirl just fine on my computer, but i know what you mean about harle,y but its supposed to be like that, shes in a dark alley
but honestl,y i think my computer is just naturally brighter for some reason
EDIT k, i uped the brightness on both, but batigrl looked horrible,dont know why, so i just left i, but harley looks better,im just waiting for it to upload
so sorry, but batgirls gonna have to stay dark
