Neat thread. If you know me, you know I'm all about the nostalgia. ::yellowsmile::

To try and uncover some memories, I've recently been asking my older brothers about when we first got Tim Burton's Batman on VHS. I can't think of my oldest superhero memory specifically, but it had to involve that movie, probably in 1990 or so. Before starting kindergarden, I watched it all the time.

As far as the more comic-styled superhero stuff goes, I was introduced to some DC characters with Ertl's set of DC Comics Super Heroes die-cast figures: Shazam, Green Lantern, etc. Those die-cast figures always had a special li'l place in me. I almost have the entire set now.

The BYTB section needs some cleaning up, but here's the figures I'm referring to. Someday I'll get the DCUYTB page up for all of them.

My earliest memory is being in a store and seeing a He-Man figure on the rack, and begging my mom to get it for me. This was right after they first came out, so I couldn't have been older than 3. I had some puzzle or something in the buggy, but I saw He-Man on the rack and recognized it, from TV, I guess. It was the only one there, and I had a fit convincing my parents to put the damn puzzle back and get me the He-Man figure! I have very hazy memories of looking at the pictures in the book on the way home. (All MOTU figures had minicomics, but the first series included little storybooks with fantastic art by Alredo Alcala.) That little incident kickstarted a lifelong obsession with all things He-Man.

Most of the earliest Batman memories I have is that old goofyass "Super Friends" cartoon.

I have vague memories of watching the Hulk and "Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends" cartoons. All of this before I was 5.

lol , I remember the He Man toys to. Until you mentioned it. I had forgot all about those. I had to choose between the He man and the Tie Fighter pilot. Which if memory serves just came out.
I got the He man

Cool subject. The earliest that I can recall was when my friend got the Super Powers Batmobile, though I have some of the Corgi toys that are older than that so I must have had something before then.

Most of my earliest toy/toon/comic memories are LEGO- or TF-based.
