$15,250,000

Vs. BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA
which made $6,180,000

I'm not sure if I'm suprised by this or not. I'm not big in Ghost Rider, but I really thought that the parents would take their kids to Bridge.

Yesterday my wife and me went to the real early bird
which was $4.00 each and being motorcycle riders ourselves
we had to see this movie...
We really liked it alot and well worth the bucks...
I'll tell you that I started with Marvel comics first as kid,
then graduated to DC Comics later on during my adulthood
and while reading all of the Marvel titles; Ghostrider was real
creepy to me...
Just watch the movie...
This movie really kicks a**...big grin

I haven't seen either one yet, and likely won't this weekend. I always liked the book Bridge..., and from what I've heard the movie is pretty faithful to it. Ghost Rider simply looks awesome.

I've not seen it, but my peeps say it's great.

I find it funny that Marvel has been shoving out all their franchises since the success of Spider-man, and since Spider-man the only well receaved franchise is one of their most obscure ones.

I saw it last night with a bunch of family and friends. The show was sold out, there wasn't an empty seat in the entire theatre. It was exactly what I expected: plot full of holes, cheesy dialogue, paper-thin chracters, but damn, was it ever fun! Lots of eye candy, some cool "western" moments, and Sam Elliotm by God! My big disappointment: I waited the whole movie for Sam to transform, and when he did, it was for all of 30 seconds. The scene of the Caretaker and GR riding across the desert is my favorite in the entire movie. My nephew has the toys of Vengeance and the Scarecrow, and he was ****ed that they weren't in the movie.

Not every movie has to be a masterpiece, or a genre-defining achievement. Sometimes, it's enough to just be fun and entertaining, and that's exactly what "Ghost Rider" is.

That's exactly what I said. They shoved out all their franchises after Spider-man's succes;. I didn't say it was they're first success, just the one that started the era of Marvel movies.

ghost rider is sony right?well anyway, sony makes the best superhero movies IMO better than WB and fox,its not that i dont like the other 2 its just sony is better, they put much more 'comic things' in their movies
both spideys were awesome i know spidey 3 will own
and ghost rider
wb is the next best thing with batman and supes but i dunno, batman movies are obviously my fav but i think sony is just a better company and fox,oh dear lord\
THEY MESSED UP MY X-MEN!

The latest issue of ToyFare has an article on the Top 10 characters that have coasted along through popularity almost entirely on their looks. Ghost Rider got #2 just under Boba Fett. I'm looking forward to seeing this film though.

Columbia shouldn't get all the glory about making good superhero films, sure they do have some input, and they made a couple of good choices; but when It' comes down to things its the directors and writters who should get the glory. If Fox made Spider-man, it would have been exactly the same if Raimi were still in the project.

If you want to blame someone for "Ruining" the X-men (All the movies were damn good IMO), Singer is to blame for all the errors in X-men, X-2, and X-men The Last Stand; he had creative control of the first two, and if he didn't leave for Superman Returns, he would have been in control of that one, too. So any errors the three directors who created X-3 made are Singers indirect responsibility.

i saw this a week ago, and i got basically what i expected, a cheesy, Grade-B marvel super hero movie with a corny story, corny characters and fight scenes that each took LITERALLY 30 seconds to end each. First off lets just say that by having a main character thats a skeleton with a flaming head this movie is COMPLETELY dependent on special effects and computer graphics to work. And the CG IS indeed pretty, but no matter how good Ghost Rider looked doing it, the fight scenes were horrid. Let me start off by pointing out that no super hero with powers as great as Ghost Rider's should NEVER and i mean NEVER take a Rocky Balboa approach to fighting. For those of you who arent madly in love with the rocky series(guilty as charged, i just get chills down my spine when rocky goes UARGH! ADRIAN! I DID IT! NO! WE DID IT!) i'll explain. Rocky usually allows his opponents to pummel the living hell out of him until he sees a glimmer of HOPE and finds an opening and then strikes after getting beat down upon for half the match. This was exactly what Ghost Rider did. As soon as ghost rider appears for the first time, he gets HUNG, then he SLOWLY gets off the chains, grabs them and proceeds to SLOWLY make his way to blackheart, and then he gets hit with a TRUCK. Are you kidding me? First off guys, whoever has seen this movie please tell me what POWER the bald henchman had because he didnt appear to have any powers. While the other guys were doing SUPER things he was driving around in a truck lol Blackheart wasnt what i was expecting. I was HOPING he'd transform into the huge planet eating black monster he is in the comics instead we got a skinny dude in a coat that could make...jagged teeth appear on his face at will? whatever. His henchmen were a cheesy lot of used and re-used super powers. One guy was...water? and another could turn into dust or something while the other guy...drove trucks im assuming Smile But the way ghost rider disposed of them was even worse. For the bald dude he just wrapped his chains around him and burnt him to death after like a 45 second quote on quote fight scene. Then the water guy takes ghost rider underneath water and ghost rider says "SURPRISE!" and seems to poke him lol and the guy shouts in agony and burns to death as well. Then the dust guy states the obvious after dum dum ghost rider wastes 3 minutes trying to whip him with his chains, saying" you cant hit the wind" after which ghost rider made a vacuum with his whips by twirling them and the villain gets swept into the fiery vacuum. We also could have seen the devil in another form instead of seeing him with that horrible haircut all the time but whatever, all in all i give it a 6/10 to the films merit if i had to watch this, or daredevil, id HAPPILY watch thisSmile thats a feat in its own right

They were the four ancient elements: Water, Air, Earth, and (Ghost Rider) Fire. My guess would be that Earth's powers were supposed to be strength and invulnerability, but his scenes were cut short.

But the way ghost rider disposed of them was even worse. For the bald dude he just wrapped his chains around him and burnt him to death after like a 45 second quote on quote fight scene.

Actually, he was turned into glass and shattered. If sand or rocks are quickly heated and cooled, they form glass (like if lightning hits a sand dune). Water was boiled and Air was burned out. I agree that there was a lot of wasted potential here, though. The way they were introduced made me think that they were supposed to be more or less GR's equals, and that he would have to be clever enough to use his own power against theirs. Longer fight scenes would have made them seem more credible, because as it was they pretty much just showed up to be destroyed.

I did enjoy the movie, but overall thought it was pretty hokey. Some friends really wanted to see it after my wife and I had already gone, so we ended up going a second time. It was actually better once you know what to expect, but I still thought the dramatic finger pointing was a bit too much :p

This is one of things that I'm really looking forward to seeing. I think it's gonna be great fun. I've been looking forward to this more than any film since last Bond.

TDK666 - what is your avatar all about!? I never expected to see that cheating, diving, nasty little muppet on BYTB! (and that's the toned down version for the happy family friendly site that I'm on!!)

hahaSmile so i see we have atleast ONE soccer (football as i prefer to call it) fan on this site other than me huh? i know he can dive alot now and then but he hasnt really done anything out of diving that would make me label him as a cheater, and if you've been keeping tabs on Cristiano Ronaldo you've seen that he has started to mature as a player, he passes alot more, dives less and holds on to the ball for less time. But its hard to be mad at only c.ronaldo for diving here and there as almost every player has done it a couple of times in his career. Thierry Henry who's supposed to be the poster child for joga bonito dived a couple times this world cup in an effort to win penalties for france, its inevitable. But anyway, where are you from? if you hate c.ronaldo i'm guessing england? lol i'm brazilian
