Okay, there are potential spoilers ahead, so be warned.

The leaked script includes a scene where Harry is injured during a battle with Peter, which is largely seen as Pater's fault. This seems to be confirmed by the scenes in the newest trailer that show Spidey smacking a pumpkin bomb right back in Harry;s face right before it explodes. However, if this leaked script is legit (and nothing in the trailers we've seen so far has contradicted it, to my knowledge), Harry's true self finally wins out, and he winds up helping Peter in the end, as he did before his death in the comics.

Since they are not going to do Secret Wars they really can't go with the comic story. I like the way the 90's cartoon handled it with the symbiote being goo that was stuck to a space shuttle that Spider-man rescued the crew of. They did a great job of adapting a story that was pretty heavily tied into other continuities to be stand-alone.

Supposedly, it still comes from space in the movie, but there are supposedly some Ultimate Spidey-inspired components, too. I suppose it comes to earth in a meteor or on a shuttle or something, like in the '90s cartoon.

7 Minutes of footage:

http://www.nbc.com/Spiderman/ It won't be there long. Most of it is Spidey's Battle with Harry. Awesome stuff.

SORRY FOR THE BAD NEWS.

http://www.superh...p?id=5290

its says that toby will not being doing anymore spiderman movies after this one as he thinks it should be a trilogy!! i nearly actually cried. it also totally buggers up me and my m8s theory that u bell scene where vemon is created is a cliff hanger for the end of the film as he must defeat him in this one.

i just hope that he changes his mind or they offer him a HUGE some of money to do some more cos it wouldnt be write someone else being spidy in this franchise of the character.

First.. you need to look at it like this..

He's getting older, and playing the same character, for some is not what they want to do. I mean, pretty soon he will start showing his age, yes I know he's not THAT old, but to play a comic character who never ages, it can get hard.

Also, IF they want Spidey 4, and IF they want Tobey, they will get him, if they pay the right amount of money.

That sucks, Tobey is Spider-man in Raimi's eyes; No Tobey, no Raimi.

Of course I'm not too dissapointed, Spider-man has about five iconic villians; Green Goblin, Green Goblin II, Doctor Octopus, Venom, and Carnage.

Were at three movies and they've used four of them; it would be repetitive to have two symbiotes in a row, and to go to Scorpion or Rhino after three straight movies with iconic villians would have been hard to pull off, not to mention that they've already used most of the iconic stories as well; so the fourth installment would have been a Hell of a toughey to make.

Though, I would have enjoyed a Carnage movie.

So in order for it to be a good movie it must have a well known villian.

Cause using a secondary villain (Ras Al Ghul - Batman Begins) doesn't work.

Not exactly... The art of making a sequal is about meeting the stakes of the last film. You can do that by using an iconic or epic villian. Let's say you're making a Superman film series. You start out with Lex Luthor as the first villain, then you go onto Brainiac and then you follow that up with Doomsday in the third. Would you use Parasite as the focus of the forth? No; it would be anticlimatic to follow Doomsday with Parasite.

Similarly, the first Spider-man deals with a villian who's insane and completely willing to kill; and it climaxes with one of the most epic scenes in Spidey's history.

The second movie delt with Spidey's most iconic villian, where ever you go Spidey's Luthor is Doc Ock. Now since Ock doesn't have too many epic stories that would make a good movie; they raised the stakes by including the "Spider-man no more" story as well.

The third movie will involve Spidey's best friend trying to kill him, his father's real killer, a villian who is probably his strongest foe and even the darkness within himself. How can you even think you could follow that up with the Shocker?

P.S. Ras al Ghul knows Batman's identity, is one of his most cunning foes, and can match him physically in strength and skill; not to mention he runs a league of assasins and has caused several events that nearly wiped out humanity... Are you sure your thinking of the right guy to use as an example of a villian who isn't iconic?

If you have a good story, then any character can be big.

And Ras isn't Iconic. Some might think so, but he's not. Joker, Penguin, Two-Face, Riddler.. even Bane.

As for who else can be brought in. I'm not a big fan, I like Spiderman, but I don't know his rouges very well. But I know some, like Kingpin, Vulture, Lizard and a few others.. So yea, I think they could do a good story. But, thats my opinion.

But an unfortunate fact about Spider-man is that he's only had a few epic stories that are short enough to make into a movie and tangable enough for the world Raimi's created... And they've already used most of those up.

Vulture, Lizard, Shocker, Rhino, Kraven the Hunter, Hobgoblin, Morbious and Scorpion... They work well for one shot stories and fillers, but as far as movies go they've got about as much potential as Arnold Wesker.

The problem with the Kingpin, while he's potentially epic enough, he doesn't have enough to do with Spider-man himself; The Spidey movies have been about self exploration, and to have a villain that has little to do with Spidey would be a bad step.

Carnage is the only route I can see them going. While it would be repetitive, it could work; permited Venom survives Spider-man 3 and can come back as a reluctant ally. Spidey teaming up with a villain is about the only route left; they've gone the "Great power" route, the "I quite" route, the "Venom within" route, and the "I killed my best friends dad" route, and even the "I'm avenging my father figure route"... There's only so much self exploration someone can do before they figure out who they are.

If there is a fourth movie, they can "kill" Mary Jane (in which she is actually kidnapped) but, lets continue the talk for Spidy 3 and worry about 4 if it happens.

Actually, they've already got someone writting Spider-man 4, so the only if is whether or not Raimi and Maguire are coming back.

And I didn't see the preview... My computer craps out when it tries to load HD quicktime. :|

Ra's is my favorite villain, no one looms larger as a threat in Batman's world. But I know what Beyond is saying: in the eys of the public, they barely know who he is, and only because of the movie. He's not one of those characters who has crossed over into public consciousness.

Anyway, it's been rumored for a long time that Toby Maguire would call it quits after SM3. By this point, he't ten years older than his character anyway, and that age difference is only gonna become more noticeable. We don't want another Roger Moore situation here. (For those who don't get that reference, it seemed that Roger Moore would never relnquish the role of James Bond back in the '80s. It got to the point where he was nearly 60, yet we were still supoosed to buy him as the perpetually mid'30s, indestructible secret agent.)

There are still several movies' worth of good villains. They could construct a fantastic movie based on the original Hobgoblin stories, and the mystery surrounding that character. The original Hobby has actually supplanted Norman Osborn in the eyes of many people as the #1 Goblin.

If all else fails and they're totally bankrupt of ideas for future movies, I've got two words for you: Clone Saga. :p
