Hey, I'm looking for some items to add to my figure collection. I was wondering if anyone's seen the Movie Master thug that comes with the mask the figure's wearing. Also, I'm looking for DCSH Clayface and Catwoman, and DCUC Harley Quinn. The stores here in Kansas don't have them, and every time I order them online, ebay, or just another store, they always send me the wrong one! If someone has one they don't want, or would like to point me in the direction of one (reasonably priced, of course), I would be forever in your debt! |

When yo usay they send you the wrong one, you're just talking about the thug right? Cause if someone on Ebay is sending the wrong figure instead of a Catwoman then something is seriously wrong.

Yes and no. I've gotten about 5 wrong thugs, even though the displayed picture is the right one. I've also ordered the Catwoman, and they sent me the Hush one, they sent me the Animated Series Clayface, and I haven't found a reasonable Harley Quinn yet. I know I shouldn't trust ebay, it's just so darn convinient!
Also, I have a Movie Masters Joker and Gotham Thug with red haired mask for sale if any one wants one, or both, they can be yours for a small price. Just let me know!

I buy from ebay, but I always mae sure the picture is what I'm buying, plus I won't buy if the selling has a rating below 90%

It would be pretty bad if people were selling BTAS Clayface and calling it DCSH Clayface - I just don't see that happening- so I doubt it was the seller's fault. Most characters that have a new figure have had a multiple versions over the years. Just make sure you read all the details. The year and company name also help if given in the auction description.
As for me, I haven't seen any of those figures here in Iowa either. And no site of DCU Classics Series 2.

Believe it or not, it did happen, though I'm not saying it was their fault. Knowing myself, it very well, and probably was just me. However, the picture on the ebay page showed the correct Clayface, so that I was confused about. Hush Catwoman and DSCH Catwoman do sort of look the same, so that could've just been me, and I've heard lots of reports of the Goons being mixed up, with the seller not knowing there were multiple ones, so they sent one besides the one in the picture. But, I'll definately be more careful when buying from ebay in the future.

Dr. Crane isn't here right now, but if you'd like to make an appointment.... |

Well.. lets look at this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/BATMAN-THE-DARK-KNIGHT-ROBIN-EXCLUSIVE_W0QQitemZ370058809177QQihZ024QQcategoryZ2480QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
The title: BATMAN THE DARK KNIGHT ROBIN EXCLUSIVE
So someone, who doesn't knwo might really be thinking that they are getting an exclusive TDK figure, when in fact the title is misleading. That Robin is from the Two pack:

Discriptions are key, and the right pictures are too, then again, if the figure is loose, you need to know which is which. I do not have the DCSH Catwoman, but I do know they are different enough to tell apart:

And before you bid, Ask someone if your not sure.

I've seen in several auctions people will through in a recent related movie so that they get more hits from searches. I don't have that two pack, but I don't think that Dark Knight is mentioned anywhere on the package. It could be on the back, I don't know.
I've been lucky enough to have never been burned with figures on Ebay. Somethings have come in in a little worse shape than I thought they were supposed to be, but so far I've been pretty lucky.

One thing I always try to do when getting a figure on Ebay, I look for one where the photo of the product looks like it was taken by the seller, it's a little more indicative of them owning it. Of course it's possible that they stole the photo of another page, os it's also best to look for a photo that doesn't match anything else that's up there.

It's annoying as hell when you're looking for old pro wrestling T-shirts because they'll have "WWE WWF WCW ECW" and any other major company acronym from the last 15 years. I've also seen people label Batman Begins items as Batman Returns a few times.
I've made some rare mistakes on eBay myself, but they didn't typically involve figure series confusion. And it was usually my own fault from being hasty. Like Razhwurz said, actual item photos help rather than the same generic catalog photo, especially if there are details of importance (loose figures, missing accessories, etc.).
