Bane
The Batman, Series 2: Mattel, 2004. SKU# H3896

Batman?s biggest foe ever takes on a whole new look in The Batman. Bane is still big but he?s red and black this time around.

SPECS:

5 ?? tall and 5 ?? wide at the elbows. 8 points of articulation (head, shoulders, wrists, torso, hips). Spring loaded torso for ?Bashing Action? with his arms.

PROS:

While the figure is top heavy, it will stand on it?s own. The ?Bashing Action? is nice and with the tight springs really effective. Either arm can be rotated up or both can be used for bashing action by pulling back the torso. The venom tubes are a golden translucent color and really cool and look like they have venom flowing in them. The venom harness can be taken off, but the attachment points (look like rivets) are a permanent part of the body.

CONS:

While Bane is big, he is not in scale with Batman. He was shown much larger in the animated series than his action figure counterpart. My guess is costs keep the scale of the figure smaller.

OVERALL:

I like this figure more now that I have one than I did when I first saw pictures of it. While it?s not a traditional looking Bane, it?s not to far a departure and better in person.

With the limited amount of villains produced this is solid buy for the Batman collector and hard to pass up.
