Bruce Wayne Batman
Batman Series 4: Mattel, 2005. SKU# B6521[/size]

By the time Mattel released Bruce Wayne in the 6? Comic Style figures, U.S. Retail had the first three Waves of figures still clogging the pegs and passed on the last three Waves of figures. There is hope that a version of this figure will be released in the U.S. when the Comic Style figures make a comeback, but that remains to be seen. I got mine from faithfulbutler, a collector in Australia in a trade for The Batman figures he could not get there. This figure was available in other countries too, just not the U.S.

SPECS:

The figure stands 6 inches tall (top of his head, not ears) and has 11 points of articulation (head, neck, shoulders, wrists, hips, and knees) and a snap on cowl with armor and a cloth cape as well as snap on gloves, boots and Utility Belt. It also comes with a Combat Weapon to hold.

PROS:

It?s Bruce Wayne, and unless you spent $100 or more online for the SDCC Exclusive Batman Unmasked version, this is the only other Bruce Wayne in this series. The neck has a ?turtle head? mechanism so that the head retracts into the body when you snap on the cowl and cape. Because of this he has cut shoulders and not the better ball-joint shoulders of Zipline Batman.

CONS:

Aside from not being released in the U.S. market and being somewhat hard to find, I can?t find any fault with the figure except the Green Body Armor, and the Green Eyes too. Blue or Black would have been much better. The shirt and pants should have been the same color too, so as not to have a two-tone Batman. Transforming Batman figures are nothing new, this one is nice, but the Dark Knight Collection Bruce Wayne is still the best of this type of figure.

OVERALL:

A good figure if you can find it, after all what is Batman without Bruce Wayne? It displays nicely without the ugly green armor and is a worthwhile addition to any collection.

The Batman transformation is awful, really no effort into that aspect. But of course, we all just want the Bruce Wayne figure anyway. You'd almost be tempted to just paint a flesh tone over those gloves. I still want this in my collection, as well as a few other Batman variants that aren't on the shelves anymore. Maybe I'll find luck on eBay.
