Dana Reeve, who fought for better treatments and possible cures for paralysis through the Christopher Reeve Foundation, named for her late actor-husband, has died, the foundation said. She was 44.
Reeve died late Monday of lung cancer, said Kathy Lewis, President and CEO of the foundation.
"On behalf of the entire Board of Directors and staff of the Christopher Reeve Foundation, we are extremely saddened by the death of Dana Reeve, whose grace and courage under the most difficult of circumstances was a source of comfort and inspiration to all of us," Lewis said in a statement

This is truley sad news. My heart, thoughts and Prayers go out to the family. They leave behind a 13 year old son.

My prayers go out to the Reeve's family and friends. It really hasn't been that long since Christopher Reeve died. Their legacy will live on through the Christopher Reeve Foundation.

Damn. The Reeve's must have been handed a big a load of bad luck. That's really too bad, passing way too early and leaving behind a teenage son.

Man is that sad or what. It truly hit me in the Gut when I read it this morning. As said before only good thoughts and prayers. Especally for there son. Poor little guy I cant and dont even want to imagen what he is going threw. Truly to much to imagen.

my condolences as well. and i saw this on aol's news thingy earlier today. apparently shes given her blessing to brandon routh as he takes the role of superman later this year, which is quite kool.
