I know, doesn't seem like a great place to post this, but there aren't any others...
A lot of you may not've seen this cartoon, unless you're around my age or a little older, but I was curious about its specific premiere. I figured it was in 1991, but I'm finding all sort of different answers on the web. From September 1990 on CBS to October 1991 on Fox.
From International Hero:
In September 1991 Fox debuted an incredibly short-live (five episodes) cartoon series, Swamp Thing: The Animated Series (produced by DiC Entertainment), to tie in with a line of toys from Kenner. Len Carlson provided the voice of the elemental, who faced Anton Arcane and his Un-Men, Bayou Jack, Tomahawk, Skin Man, Weed Killer and Dr.Deemo. The half-hour episodes were:
- The UN-Men Unleashed
- To Live Forever
- Falling Red Star
- Legend of the Lost Cavern
- Experiment in Terror
I didn't realize it was only five episodes. I had a bunch on tape years ago, so I may've had everyone. I remember it being a pretty cool cartoon. It had kind of a dark nature. And, of course, I had a good handful of the Kenner action figures. But that's the wierd thing: The figures are dated 1990, but the series didn't premiere until a year later? I thought it was around the time of [b]Toxic Crusaders[b] which was in 1991 and I thought it was on CBS. Any insight on this would be appreciated.

I would have guessed CBS too since I watched a few (apparently very few) of the episodes and we didn't have Fox at that time. It is reasonable for the show to come out with the figures being dated earlier since it can take so long for figures to come out. It would seem like there would be more info that that online.
You might email Mike Sterling he is a big fan of Swamp Thing, and you can at least be entertained by his blog.

Thanks, Darknight! I'll have to shoot him an email. And yeah, action figures often predate their cartoon premieres, like The Batman, for one. I'd like to get the Swamp Thing collection on DVD someday and relive its tiny, tiny legacy.

I watched a lot of the live action show, but I could not tell you anything that happened on there. I do remember that the suit was extremely close to the comic.

Could you offer some examples of why? Otherwise, you just come off sounding like a jerk.

Yeah, I don't recall anything from the show either. They may still air the movie on Sci-Fi once in a while, but I've yet to sit and watch the whole thing. I'd kinda like to see it just to say I did.
