Chain of Command
PLOT:
When disaster strikes Lightning Lad's home planet of Winath, the Legion is called to help. Lightning Lad's efforts to take charge are thwarted however when long-absent Legion leader Cosmic Boy arrives with an enigmatic new hero in tow.
REVIEW:
As I said before in the other two episodes, "Champions" and "Lightning Storm", Lightning Lad is another character who is focused on in this series besides our young Man of Steel, Superman. There is a total of three episodes that focus on Lightnign Lad, and "Chain of Command" is the thid and final episode that does that. But as we found out early on, there was something else about this episode that I wanted to see: Cosmic Boy.
The episode begins when the LoSH are going to Lightning Lad's home because danger is occuring there. Once they get close to it, most of the heroes use pods to reach the planet. There, they meet Cosmic Boy and new hero; Ferro Lad. When trying to do their mission, Superman answers a call for help where is he gets hurt pretty bad and taking to the ship. With no Man of Steel around, its up to the rest of the LoSH.
Cosmic Boy is the leader of the Legion of Superheroes. I remember when people on the boards were wondering who was THE leader of the team as it seem to be either hot-headed Lightning Lad or the inexperienced Superman. And its still Cosmic Boy, as it is in the comics. He knows of Superman as he is, or will, become his favorite hero. And with him, we get another Legionaire who appears for the first time: Ferro Lad. Cosmic Boy presents himself as the leader and proves it. Which leads to anger Lighting Lad, even when it comes to Saturn Girl. While he presents himself as a true leader, he has some down points. One is that he is overprotected of Saturn Girl, almost like treating her like a child. But I saw it more as even he, along with Lightnign Lad, has feelings for her. The second is that he takes a too serious move into believing everything is fine as long as he's there, even where he doesn't know or have all the answers. But despite that, it was great seeing another Legionaire, or Legionaires, in the show.
While he has been a hot head throughout the season, Lightning Lad seemed different more this time. While he has moved away from how people would hate him into being responsible, this episode begins with him being completely serious all because of his home in danger. He takes on the pure leader role until Cosmic Boy comes in. Then it almost feels like he goes back to what he was like. But its not without a very good reason, he wants to save his home. And it shows when the huge rocks are falling, he goes out of his way to take a picture of his family before his home is gone. I like seeign him as this matured and I hope this is primary for the episodes to come.
Overall, this was an exciting and better episode than the previous episode we saw, Child's Play. What was really great about this was that Superman almost took the back seat and we focused instead more of the founding members of the LoSH whom are Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad & Saturn Girl. I hope we're see Cosmic Boy again, and Farro Lad. I believe we will. Plus, as if they took the "who is the leader?" to their scripts, they finally elect a leader to Bouncing Boy. But if was one thing that made me made, is its ending. A villian comes in and we know we won't know anythign about that until the episodes resume in the coming months.
RATING: 8/10
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.

I thought The Episode was Fantastic, I really did like it, My Favorite Scene in the Episode is when Superman is carrying that thing up in the Sky, and the Music is playing, I really did like that Scene, made me think of Superman The Animated Series, and I thought making Bouncing Boy Leader was great, after he saved Everybody, and I thought The Ending was great, with that Bad Guy coming, I can't wait to see The Season Finale, it is going to be Excellent.
