REVIEW:
For our fourth episode (it's actually the fourth with it being the sixth episode to be aired), this is one of the episodes for this season that interested me. The reason was that not only were we going to see the greatest fear(s) of the Legion in order to know more about them, but what I thought would be cool to see in this episode was what the greatest fear our young Superman had. Many would agree because the idea of seeing the fear Superman would have at a time before he became the world's savior is interesting to look at. In happened in the episode in Smallville where Clark believed Chloe was going to reveal his secret, Jonathan was scheming against him with Lionel Luthor, and Lana was having a secret relationship with Lex. With no silver kryptonite, since it wouldn't affect the Legion, let's see how this goes.
As I said, I was wondering what Superman was afraid of at this point in his life. Going by the episode in Smallville, I wondered if we were going to get something similar like maybe Ma Kent and/or the Legion against him with this. His first concern, not fear, was the dinner he was given on the haunted ship which was exactly like his mother's chicken noodle soup. But as in turned out, he never went through what the Legion went through. I guess I should be mad but we did get somethign invovling his fear which happened in the last fight. He was afraid of losing those he cared about from failing as a hero. I guess this was a obivious fear for Superman. At least we got to see a picture of him as a baby, with Ma Kent and now LoSH's version of Pa Kent.
When it comes to the other Legions fears: Bouncing Boy is afraid of experiencing and becoming like in his favorite horror movies which Brainiac 5 doesn't undestand they are his "classics" if he gets scared everytime. When his fear pops out, its every horror film he knows and loves, but scared of since its happening to him. Lightning Lad's fear was a scary looking toy doll he had when he was a kid. Saturn Girl was fear of roller coasters, and when we got to Brainiac 5: his fear was of course Brainiacs. We ended getting the show's version of the Pre-Crisis origin of Brainiac where he was Coluian. In this version, we learn that maybe in this universe of the show: maybe every Coluian on their planet became Brainiacs.
Overall, this episode was another good one. The episode had its moments, but I feel a little cheated as I didn't get a real fear threat for Superman as I wanted to see. But it had funny moments like with Bouncing Boy. As I was watching it, maybe a first but I found a goof of Superman's eyes being blue then black then back to blue. As the real fourth episode, we got to see some learning curves for the Legion as well with Superman. Continuing the adventure.
RATING: 7.5/10
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.

I didn't catch it, but just thought I'd note something. The episode title may've been inspired by the industrial metal band Fear Factory. Very good group by the way. I'm not crazy about the show, but if I'm ever up (and not occupied) when it's on, I'll probably have it on at least.
