I think we got a peek at Barbara Gordon in Batman Begins when Batman visits Gordon at home. I?d like to see glimpses of Barbara as she ages in the next few Batman films and then maybe one day Barbara Gordon will take on the role as Batgirl. However it would have to be 5 or 6 films from now.

5 or 6 films? WOW!!! i think they shud just skip some years and show flashbacks or something to get things moving faster.
batman begins showed bruce wayne from child to adult; if they did it with bruce, they can do that for robin or batgirl too, lol....well for their case, it wud have to be birth to teenager or something.
anyways...i really dont think we'll be seeing any sidekicks any time soon.

The kid in the movie was james jr not barbara, but i agree, i would like to see barbara in the movies
if its batgirl, then cassandra would fit in perfectly, in fact i would really like to see her in one of the movies. shes not your typical sidekick

I would love to see Batgirl in one of Nolan's Batman movies!!!
While Cass seems to fit more with the type of character Nolan would perfer, I really hope he would go with Babs, but give her a darker story, but not totally change her, like in B&R. But I doubt we will see Batgirl in a movie for a while, if not ever.

Yeah, it wouldn't be fair to just skip Babs all together. She is the character most people associate with Batgirl.

People, you're two-dimensionalizing Nolan. Why do you all think he's only gloom and doom? Are you saying people like me and Nolan are incapable of letting characters experiance joy? Are you saying were evil and don't know what happiness is?
Just because he made a darker movie dosen't mean he'll only choose characters with darker pasts. If he puts a Batgirl in a film, he can make Babs work very well. Besides, Babs is more likely than Cass in real life; He just needs to shuffle her story a little, and she works perfectly.

I definitely want to see Babs. I'd love to see her with an edge.

No I don't think people like you and Nolan are "incapable of letting characters experience joy" :p You just prefer the darker stories. There's nothing wrong with the "gloom and doom" stories though!! That is how Batman should be. It's more realistic. That is what I loved about Batman Begins. It is dark and realistic. And you have a good point to why he would choose Babs over Cass. I really don't think there is any chance of Cass ever being chosen over Babs though.
But I think Nolan can write a perfect Babs/Batgirl story. He doesn't even have to change her story. Just focus on the flashbacks of her childhood a little more. When her father was an alchoholic, and her parents died in a car accident. Everyone forgets about that part of Barbara's story. And is does have an effect on her being Batgirl.
Just because he wrote Batman Begins dark, doesn't mean he can't add a character like Batgirl or Robin, and still make it a good movie. Batgirl and Robin are the one's that people two-dimensionalize. They think of the dorky characters in the old cartoons or comics with the stupid puns, and don't realize that these characters originated from dark and traumatic experinces. There is alot more to them.

That manip is kind of wierd with the cartoony body, but the girl looks good for Batgirl. Is she a good actress? What is she from?
Barbara has to be batgirl first. She can't just skip being Batgirl, so she can be Oracle. Part of the reason she becomes Oracle is because she was Batgirl.

I wasn't refering to you, Batgirl. I was talking about the people who assume that Babs is unusable because they think Nolan is incapable of placing her in.
And Begins already went down the "Ninja/Assasin" route, and Nolan and Goyer are saying they want to take the movie in new directions; so I doubt they'll put Cass in.

Oh, ok!!
Some people don't think Nolan is incapable of putting Babs as Batgirl in there so much, as they don't want him to. Alot of people would rather see Cass in a movie, and that's ok to have her as Batgirl in a movie, but not before Babs. I would love to see enough Batman movies for them to eventually get to the Babs as Oracle and Cass as Batgirl stories, but not mess with the Batman timeline by putting Cass first or skipping right to Oracle. Babs has to progress to Oracle, the same as Dick has to progress from Robin to Nightwing.
If they ever get to that point I hope they do a spin-off thing and do a Birds of Prey movie!!
